Prithvi (Sanskrit: pṛthvī "Earth") is a tactical surface-to-surface short- range ballistic missile (SRBM) developed by DRDO of Indiaunder the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP of 1983). It is deployed by India's Strategic Forces Command. 4) SOIL HEALTH CARD- Soil Health Card, a revolutionary scheme, was initiated for farmers and it has made a huge difference to farming and farm produce. It has helped in increasing the productivity and reduced the cost of production. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had inaugurated the scheme on February 19, 2015, in Suratgarh, Rajasthan. Soil Health Card provides information to farmers on nutrient status of their soil along with recommendations on appropriate dosage of nutrients for improving soil health and its fertility. This also gives farmers information about the nature of the soil. 5) Science City’ to be developed in Haryana by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under Ministry of Culture. 6) An MoU was signed between National Skill Development Corporation and Bird Academy on the 1st of June 2017 in New Delhi, with regards to skilling of unemployed youth in the aviation and aerospace Sector. The Bird Group established its educational arm in 1998 to meet the growing demand for internationally competent human resource. The Courses have been conceptualized with a view to provide an in-depth understanding and technical skills in the field of Aviation, Travel & Tourism, Information Technology and Hospitality Management involving Soft Skill Training, IATA Consultant and Foundation Course, Airport Handling and IATA Cargo Courses, Computerized Reservation System, Automated Ticketing, GDS Fares & Ticketing and Aviation Law and Dangerous Goods Regulation courses. 7)B Sai Praneeth won Thailand Open badminton. 8) GSLV Mk III is a three-stage heavy lift launch vehicle developed by ISRO. The vehicle has two solid strap-ons, a core liquid booster and a cryogenic upper stage.GSLV Mk III is designed to carry 4 ton class of satellites into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) or about 10 tons to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), which is about twice the capability of GSLV Mk II. The energy optimisation measures in IN cover its entire spectrum – operations, infrastructure and maintenance. World Environment Day is a global initiative of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). 2017 Theme: Connecting People to Nature. 2017 Host Country: Canada. Canada is seeking to use World Environment Day to showcase to the world the beauty of its natural environment on land and water. Since 1987, World Environment Day has been hosted by different countries. 10)6TH June-20th Anniversary of BIMSTEC celebrated. 11)Central Govt in Health and Family Welfare launched the ‘Skill for Life, Save a Life’ initiative. ndia enjoys a demographic dividend as more than 65% youth are below the age of 35 years and the Government is determined to seize this opportunity by providing adequate skills and employability to the youth for a strong foundation for continued and sustainable growth. ‘Skills for Life, Save a Life’ Initiative’ aims to upscale the quantity and quality of trained professionals in the healthcare system. Under this initiative various courses are planned to be initiated targeting specific competencies for healthcare professionals as well as for general public. 12) Mr. J.S. Deepak, WAS APPOINTED asAmbassador/Permanent Representative of India to the World Trade Organization 13) Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) is undertaking two initiatives in skill development under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM): (i) Placement linked skill development program called DDU-GKY which allows skilling and assured wage employment. (ii) Skill development through 587 Rural Self Employment and Training Institutes (RSETI) in the country, which provides skilling, thereby enabling the trainee to take bank credit and start his/her own Micro-enterprise. 13)Union Health Ministry launched Vatsalya – Maatri Amrit Kosh’, a National Human Milk Bank and Lactation Counselling Centre at the Lady Hardinge Medical College 14)In SCO summit as Astana India and Pakistan admitted as members of SCO. SCO is the political and security grouping headquartered in Beijing. It was founded in 2001. The full members of the organization are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The groupings main objective is military cooperation between the members. The grouping also works towards intelligence-sharing, counter-terrorism operations in Central Asia. China founded this grouping, called the Shanghai Five, in 1996. It comprised Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. In 2001 Uzbekistan was invited to join it and the SCO was officially born. The vision of the program is to initiate transformation in the education and health sectors. Abdul Kalam Missile Complex at Hyderabad, DL Jodhpur, HEMRL and ARDE at Pune. 19) India to be Co-Partner Country in ANUGA - an international business platform for Food Industry to be held in Cologne, ANUGA - an acronym for Allgemeine Nahrungs Und Genußmittel Ausstellung ( General Food and Non essential Provisions Exhibition) is the world’s biggest and most important trade fair for Food and beverage trade. It takes place biennially (every 2 years). ANUGA 2017 is the 34th edition. ANUGA offers an extensive supporting programme with Lectures, Special exhibition and attractive industry events ANUGA is the leading export platform with 7,189 exhibitors from 109 countries with over 85% of Exhibitors from abroad. 20) Interest Subvention Scheme (ISS) for farmers for the year 2017-18. This will help farmers getting short term crop loan up to Rs. 3 lakh payable within one year at only 4% per annum. The Government has earmarked a sum of Rs. 20,339 crore for this purpose.The interest subvention will be given to Public Sector Banks (PSBs), Private Sector Banks, Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) on use of own funds and to NABARD for refinance to RRBs and Cooperative Banks.The Interest Subvention Scheme will continue for one year and it will be implemented by NABARD and RBI. 21)Two Metros opened Namma Metro at Bengaluru and another at Kochi. Kochi metro project became the first metro in the country which connects rail, road and water transport facilities and completed in fastest phase. 22)Kidambi Srikanth won Indonesian Open Badminton title.It is his third Super Series title. Srikanth had previously won Super Series titles in India and Chinahe Indian shuttler defeated the World and Olympic champion from China, for the first time in six meetings, in the men’s singles final to lift the $750,000 Australian Open Superseries crown in Sydney also. 3 PRABHA IAS IPS COACHING ACADEMY 23) National Mission on Cultural Mapping of India commenced at Goverdhan Block, Mathura District,. This Mission is part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ umbrella. Ministry of Culture launched it in the year of commemoration of the birth centenary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who hailed from Mathura. 24) Union Govt launched the Startup India Virtual Hub, an online platform for all stakeholders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India to discover, connect and engage with each other. 25)Third International Yoga Day celebrated on 21st June.PM participated at Lucknow.UN proclaimed it in 2014 and being celebrated from 2015.Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.Theme for 2017 was Yoga for Health.
