FELIX ROSENQVIST TAKING A SUSTAINABLE VIEW ON MOTORSPORT A multiple title winner and frontrunner in every championship he ever contested, Sweden’s Felix Rosenqvist is one of the most exciting up-and-coming talents in international motorsport. The 2013 campaign saw Rosenqvist engulfed in a dramatic two-way scrap for the prestigious FIA Formula 3 European Championship title, eventually finishing second to Ferrari-backed Italian Raffaele Marciello. Rosenqvist also made history by winning the blue-riband Masters of Formula 3 event – Europe’s most important F3 race – for a second time. Felix Rosenqvist is backed by the official Mercedes- Benz young driver development programme. Following his 2013 achievements, he was ranked among the world’s top 50 drivers – all categories. • 2016 Bmw Motorsport Junior Programme
BMW Motorsport 2016 BMW MOTORSPORT www.press. Sheer JUNIOR PROGRAMME bmwgroup-sport.com Driving Pleasure MEDIA INFORMATION. BMW MOTORSPORT JUNIOR PROGRAMME. TALENT PROMOTION IN GT RACING. The development of promising talented drivers enjoys a long tradition at BMW Motorsport. In 2014 a new multi-level GT junior concept had been introduced: the BMW Motorsport Junior Programme. This realignment saw BMW Motorsport shift its development of young drivers back to the GT and touring car sector. In Formula racing the concept bore fruit for many years in Formula BMW and the Formula BMW Talent Cup and kick-started the racing career of many successful drivers like Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg and Nico Hülkenberg. The focus is on GT and touring car drivers who already have some racing experience. Outings in the BMW M235i Racing are an integral part of the comprehensive training programme. As well as race starts and test drives, intensive theory courses dealing with fitness and PR are planned, as are mental and simulator training. The potential candidates for this year’s class were put to the test in a shootout in the BMW M235i Racing in Dijon on 10th/11th March. A decision as to which of the young drivers showed the most potential is made by a jury of experts, headed by BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. BMW works driver Dirk Adorf will act as a mentor for the junior programme. At the end of the year, the most successful BMW Motorsport Junior of the season will be given the opportunity to continue his training for a second year in a higher racing category.

  • Press Release 18 January 2020
Press Release 18 January 2020 Santiago E-Prix, Race 3 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2019/2020 TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team out of luck at the race in Chile Stuttgart. After a strong podium finish at the season-opener in Diriyah (Saudi Arabia), the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team was denied a further top result in the third race of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2019/2020 season in Santiago (Chile). Neel Jani (CH) was forced to retire from the race after just a few laps in his #18 Porsche 99X Electric. André Lotterer (D) crossed the finishing line at the Santiago E-Prix in 22nd place in his #36 Porsche 99X Electric, but was later disqualified having exceeded the maximum permitted power amount. Victory went to Maximilian Günther (D, BMW i Andretti Motorsport), ahead of António Félix da Costa (PT, DS Techeetah) and Mitch Evans (NZ, Jaguar Racing). Having started the race from twelfth place, Jani was involved in a racing accident through no fault of his own on the first lap and had to head for the pits. He was able to return to the 2.287 km street circuit, but the damage to his car was so severe that it proved impossible to continue racing. Lotterer had qualified in 14th place but was involved in an incident in the race and also had to make a pit stop for repairs. He did manage to continue and get some important kilometres under his belt. André Lotterer is in ninth place in the drivers’ standings; Neel Jani is currently in 23rd position.
