Richmond’s most unique tourist attraction, Agecroft Hall & Gardens gives visitors a chance to travel back in time to Tudor and Stuart England without leaving Richmond! That’s because this actually stood in England for more than four centuries before being dismantled, crated, and shipped across the Atlantic to be rebuilt here on the banks of the James River in the 1920s. Surrounded by Charles Gillette gardens inspired by 17th century examples, Agecroft Hall now offers guided tours that interpret life in an English manor house in the brilliant and turbulent era of Henry VIII, and William Shakespeare. Afterwards, visi- tors can stroll through the beautiful gardens at their leisure. Guided garden tours and joint tours with Virginia House are also available by appointment.

Come and step back in time at the Richmond region's own 18th century James River Plantation house. Situated on a bluff overlook- ing the James River, Wilton is an impressive example of Colonial American architecture and is a superb essay in Georgian design.

Built circa 1753 by III, Wilton was the centerpiece of a 2,000-acre plantation and home to the Randolph family for more than a century. It was here the family entertained George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Marquis de Lafayette. Due to the industrialization of the surrounding area, Wilton was purchased and carefully moved to its current site in 1933 by the Virginia Society of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. Opened to the public in 1952, Wilton today plays host to an exquisite collection of 18th- and 19th-century furnishings, textiles, glass, ceramics and silver that reflect the "planter" lifestyle of the 18th century.

Located in Richmond’s oldest neighborhood, the Virginia Holocaust Museum was founded to educate the community about the tragedies of the Holocaust and strives to memorialize and document the atrocities of World War II. Through exhibits, programming, and outreach, the museum uses the history of genocide to teach the dangers of prejudice and indifference.

The museum, docent-lead tours, and parking are free to the public; donations are accepted. For more information or to book a docent-led tour, please visit our website and complete the group reservation form.

Started in 1998 by the granddaughter of a museum co-founder, the VHM Penny Campaign seeks to collect six million pennies to honor the memories of the innocent Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The campaign’s challenge has subsequently been taken up by school students as a way to engage actively in remembering Holocaust victims.

Due to the nature of some exhibits, the Virginia Holocaust Museum recommends that children under the age of 11 be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This summer, don’t miss out on all the coasters and waterslides you can handle. At Kings Dominion and Soak City, you can get the best of both worlds, all for one low price—like the newly- expanded kids’ area coming in 2017, or one of our classic coasters, Intimidator 305, plus many more.
