She shared that mark with All-American Katherine Grable for the team high score. Dillard also had a 9.85 on floor which was good enough for third place in the meet and second place on the team. The freshman had two 9.8+ marks in her first col- legiate meet ever. SEC Gymnastics • Week 2 TEAM BY TEAM NOTES ALABAMA Crimson Tide or tied for first in all six of those events…Georgia moved up three spots to No. 8 in this The back-to-back NCAA Champion Alabama gymnastics team opens up its week’s top 25 national rankings. Patterson was confi dent because she had senior Ashley Priess set for that last routine. Priess closed Alabama’s decisive balance beam rotation with a 9.950 and the Crimson Tide edged No. 1 seed Florida to win its second consecutive cham- pionship April 21 at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga.. Alabama won its sixth title by posting a score of 197.850 to beat Florida’s 197.775, giving the Southeastern Conference the top two spots in its Super Six showdown with the Pac-12. Entering the fi nal rotation, Florida led Alabama by only 25-thousandths of a point. The Gators scored a 49.40 on their fi nal routine, the fl oor exercise, and Alabama won with its 49.50 on the beam. ”I realized our scores had matched up with theirs pretty well and it was going to come down to that last routine,” Patterson said. Florida closed its fl oor routine with a 9.925 from all-around champion Kytra Hunter. ”I knew that Ashley was going on the balance beam, and I knew it came down to that routine,” Patterson said. On Saturday night, the Sooners did just that. With a 197.6750, the No. 1-seeded Sooners secured the 2016 NCAA Championship inside Fort Worth Convention Center. The title was their second all-time, with the first coming in 2014. The Super Six appearance was OU’s sixth in the last seven seasons and in each of those, OU has now finished within the top three nationally. The victory made history in the gymnastics world as Oklahoma became the first school in history to win both the women’s and men’s national titles in the same season. Earlier on Saturday night, the men’s team rolled to the 2016 crown in Columbus, Ohio. “What do you say? One of girls this morning, when she woke up, tweeted, ‘It felt like Christmas Eve last night—I couldn’t go to bed anticipating today,’ It turns out that’s exactly what it was,” 10th-year Oklahoma head coach K.J. OREGON STATE, STANFORD, UCLA and UTAH earned spots in the competition. In addi- tion, three individuals from Pac-12 teams will compete in speci!c events. Pac-12 Champion UCLA posted the highest score at regionals of any Conference team and was the second-highest in the country, coming in !rst place at Fayetteville. The Utes posted a 196.825 at the Salt Lake City Regional, coming in second. The Beavers were second at the Auburn Regional with a 196.450 and Stanford was second at the Champaign Regional with a score of 196.675. Qualifying for the national competition in the all-around are ARIZONA’s Aubree Cristello (39.250 at the Seattle Regional) and WASH- INGTON’s Aliza Vaccher (39.225 at the Seattle Regional). Wildcat teammate Katie Matusik posted a 9.900 on the balance beam in Seattle and quali!ed on the event for the national competition. HOW THEY QUALIFIED The women’s gymnastics championships consist of 12 teams and 12 all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and individual event specialists. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors from each of the six regionals have advanced to the national championships.

    SEASON Review 2013 Returning ALL-AMERICANS NEW CONFERENCE, SAME EXCELLENCE FOR NU IN 2012 academic All-Big Ten selection. Emily Wong solidified her role as one of Nebraska’s top all- around competitors in 2012, capturing first-team All-America honors on beam while adding second-team accolades on floor and in all-around competition. Wong competed in the all-around 12 times throughout the course of the season, picking up two individual all-around titles while adding five crowns on beam, three on floor and one apiece on bars and vault. One of Wong’s finest performances of the year came at the Big Ten Championships, where the sophomore won beam (9.900) and floor (9.900), on her way to Nebraska’s first Big Ten individual all-around title (39.600). Wong’s efforts earned her a spot on the All-Big Ten Championship team on vault, beam, floor and in the all-around. Wong also picked up first-team All-Big Ten honors as well as academic All-Big Ten accolades from the conference. Wong wrapped up her season by capturing the beam title (9.875) at the NCAA Salt Lake City Regional and finishing in 10th on beam (9.825) in the NCAA Individual Event Finals. The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team didn’t hold back talent on both apparatuses throughout the season, picking Freshman Jessie DeZiel had a stellar first season with the in their first season of Big Ten competition, capturing the up a total of five vault titles and nine bars titles as well as Huskers, winning a staggering 23 individual event titles, conference championship and taking second at the NCAA one all-around.
