COPPS® informiert: KDE neon: Ubuntu-Derivat mit aktuellstem KDE Plasma ________________________________________________________________________ Hallo, da bin ich wieder- heute mit meinem Bericht zu KDEneon ein auf Linux Ubuntu basierendes Linux mit speziellem Desktop. Ich bin auf KDEneon bei der Internetsuche nach aktuellen Informationen über Linux Derivate aufmerksam geworden. Ich habe KDEneon mir per Download geladen und als VM installiert um zu sehen was ist mit KDEneon, das so positiv bewertet wird, nun wirklich ist – wie fasst es sich an, wie verhält es sich im Vergleich zu meinen bisherigen Linux- Favoriten. https://neon.kde.org/ ist die Website vom Hersteller KDEneon: Fragen und Antworten übersetzt in Deutsch Was ist KDE Neon? KDEneon ist ein schnell aktualisiertes Software-Repository. Die meisten Benutzer möchten die Pakete verwenden, die aus der veröffentlichten Software unserer User Edition erstellt wurden. KDE-Mitwirkende und - Tester können die aus KDE Git erstellten Pakete in der Test- und der instabilen Edition verwenden. Es verwendet die Grundlage des neuesten Ubuntu LTS (18.04). Das jüngste Release setzt dabei auf KDE Plasma 5.17.4 und den Linux Kernel 5.0. Die Distribution richtet sich vor allem an experimentierfreudige Anwender und Entwickler, die neue Pakete bevorzugen. Ist es eine Distribution? Nicht ganz, es ist ein Paketarchiv mit der neuesten KDE-Software auf einer stabilen Basis. Obwohl wir installierbare Images haben, interessieren wir uns im Gegensatz zu vollständigen Linux-Distributionen nur für KDE-Software. Was ist der Unterschied zwischen KDE Neon und der Verwendung von einfachem Ubuntu? KDE neon bietet Benutzern aktuellere Pakete mit Qt und modernster KDE-Software. Warum Ubuntu? Wir verwenden Ubuntu als Basis für KDE-Neon, da das KDE-Neon-Team der Ansicht ist, dass es die beste Technologie als stabile Version und den besten Support von Drittanbietern bietet. Das KDE-Neon-Team ist mit Ubuntu vertraut, das seit über einem Jahrzehnt damit arbeitet. Wir sind auch der Meinung, dass Ubuntu-Benutzer etwas verpassen werden, wenn sie keine aktuelle KDE-Software haben. Es hat sonst nichts mit dem Ubuntu-Projekt oder Canonical zu tun. Ist KDE Neon 64bit nur? Ja. Da Computer ohne 64-Bit immer seltener werden, haben wir uns entschlossen, unsere Ressourcen auf höherwertige 64-Bit-Builds zu konzentrieren. Wie aktualisiere ich auf die neueste Software? KDE neon stellt die neueste KDE-Software kontinuierlich bereit, sodass fast immer neue Versionen unserer Software aktualisiert werden müssen. Wir empfehlen die Verwendung des Updater von Plasma Discover, der in Ihrem Panel angezeigt wird: Wenn Sie die Befehlszeile bevorzugen, können Sie den Befehl pkcon verwenden: • pkcon refresh • pkcon update Dadurch werden alle neuen Pakete installiert und der gleiche PackageKit-Code wie bei Plasma Discover verwendet. Einige Anwendungen von aptinstallieren keine neuen Pakete, was es für KDE Neon weniger geeignet macht. Eine Distribution in vier Edition Neben der User Edition (ISO), die sich laut der Macher von KDE neon auch für den täglichen Einsatz eignet, bietet das Projekt ebenso eine Testing Edition (ISO) ohne Qualitätskontrolle an, welche „einige Bugs enthält und sich gut zu Testzwecken eignet“, eine Unstable Edition (ISO), welche zusätzlich auf Pre-Release-Software zurückgreift und dementsprechend noch einmal mehr Bugs enthalten kann als die Testversion, sowie eine spezielle Developer Edition (ISO), die auf der Unstable Edition basiert und zusätzliche Libraries für Entwickler beinhaltet. Das Drama mit der Bildschirmauflösung -voreingestellt im KDEneon auf 800x 600 bei der Installation als Gastsystem bzw. den Start dort als Live System. Wer Interesse hat mag die nächsten Seiten dazu lesen, oder sonst direkt zur Lösung gehen. Ich habe es notiert, wie es mir ergangen ist, damit sich der Leser ein Bild machen kann, was so ein System, wenn es nicht direkt, wie man es erwarten darf, als Anwendersystem bedienungsbereit mit entsprechender Auflösung des Bildschirmes installiert und dann gestartet werden kann. Nachdem das KDEneon aus der .ISO als Live System gestartet war, wollte ich das Display einstelle (stand auf800x600) Wie auch immer es ließ sich nicht ändern, beim Starten über den Installationsbutton kam zuerst die Sprache, doch der weiter Button war schon außerhalb der Bildschirmanzeige und nicht erreichbar. Oben links fand ich durch Zufall einen Knopf der vergrößerte die VM Anzeige so, dass ich den Weiter Button betätigen konnte, der linke Teil der Display Anzeige dafür nun abgeschnitten. Nach dem Installieren als Virtuelle Maschine war es weiterhin nicht möglich die Bildschirmgrösse zu ändern. Bei Tippen auf Anwenden macht es kurz Anzeigeänderung doch dann ist der alte Zustand 800x600 direkt wieder zurückgestellt. Mit anderen Worten. Kann ich mir und Anderen Linux Anwendern so etwas zumuten? KDEneon Ade? das war die Status Version KDEneon vom 21.6.2020 inkl. 2 x automatische Updates Hilfestellung über das KDE-FORUM: am 23.06.2010 Erste Hilfebemühungen bekam ich von Groni, ein sehr erfahrener Linux Anwender , aus der Usergemeinde von KDEneon [email protected] www.kde-neon.de groni hat auf einen deiner Kommentare geantwortet: "Hi copps! KDE-neon ist Anwendertauglich. Es kommt immer darauf an wie man es sieht. Mein KDE-neon ist nicht geschraubt. Wenn ich es schrauben würde, bräuchte ich keine Fehlerberichte senden. da die Fehler durch das schrauben wie du es nennst passieren. Die Fehlerberichte sollen auf einem nicht manipulierten System beziehen. Da es sich bei deiner Karte um eine Nvidia-Grafikkarte handelt, meine Frage Nouveau oder proprietärer Nvidia Grafiktreiber installiert? Solltest du keinen Nvidia Treiber installiert haben, würde ich es nachholen. Mit der Eingabe von lspci -nnk | grep -i “VGA\|’Kern’\|3D\|Display” -A2 im Terminal wird ersichtlich welche Hardware und welcher Treiber dahintersteckt. Open terminal either via Ctrl+Alt+T keyboard shortcut or by searching for ‘terminal’ from application menu. When it opens, run command: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa Type user password (no asterisk feedback due to security reason) when it prompts and hit Enter to continue adding PPA. 2. For Linux Mint 19, you may need to run command to refresh system package cache: sudo apt-get update3. Launch Software & Updates utility, and navigate to Additional Drivers tab. Then choose using “NVIDIA driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-430” from the list and click Apply Changes. Highlights of OMI’s activities include educational workshops for the university and broader creative community, as well as per- formances of faculty, staff, and student work.     Arvo Mägi KDE Plasma 5 Tallinn, 2017 1 Sissejuhatus KDE töökeskkonnale pani aluse saksa programmeerija Matthias Ettrich 14.10.1996. 2016. a oktoobris sai populaarne KDE seega 20. aastaseks. Hea ülevaate KDE ajaloost annab artikkel „19 Years of KDE History: Step by Step.” KDE 4.14 ilmumisega oli KDE saavutanud kasutusküpsuse, kuid edasine areng kippus takerduma – vaja oli põhimõttelisi uuendusi. Otsustati võtta kasutusele iseseisvatel moodulitel põhinev KDE 5 arhitektuur – Qt/Frameworks. Kõik KDE rakendusprogrammid, sh Plasma 5 töölaud, kasutavad ainult konkreetse rakenduse jaoks vajalikke mooduleid. Varem kasutati kõigi rakenduste jaoks ühist suurt teeki, mis raskendas muudatuste tegemist ja pidurdas arendustööd. Qt on C++ programmeerimiskeskkond. Pikaajalise toega Qt 5.9 LTS ilmus 31. mail 2017. KDE Frameworks on 70 moodulist koosnev komplekt, mis lihtsustab Qt keskkonnas KDE programmide koostamist. Frameworks veaparandused ja täiendused ilmuvad iga kuu. KDE Plasma 5 töölaud põhineb KDE Frameworksil (KF5). Töölaua veaparandused ilmuvad iga kuu, vajadusel mitu korda kuus, uued versioonid kord kvartalis. Plasma 5.8 LTS, mis on pikaajalise toega (18 kuud), ilmus 4.10.2016, veidi enne KDE 20. aastaseks saamist. Plasma 5.10 ilmus 30.05.2017. Järgmine pikaajalise toega Plasma 5.12 ilmub 2018. a jaanuaris. Plasma 5 töölaud on pälvinud palju kiitvaid hinnanguid ja sobib igapäevaseks tööks. Eeldab kaasaegset, mitme tuumaga protsessori ja piisava mäluga (vähemalt 4 GB) arvutit. SSD kettalt töötab välkkiirelt. Töölaud on keskkond rakendusprogrammide käivitamiseks ja kasutamiseks. KF5-le on üle viidud kõik KDE põhirakendused (failihaldur Dolphin, pildinäitaja Gwenview, konsool Konsole, teksti- redaktor Kate, ekraanitõmmise võtja Spectacle, videoredaktor Kdenlive, plaadikirjutaja K3b jt). Need on KDE Applications koosseisus, mille uued versioonid ilmuvad kolm korda aastas, veaparandused kord kuus.

    Linux ZorinOSLite live-persistent mit 64GB USB-Stick __________________________________________________________________________ Erstausgabe hat Status 14.6.2020 Hallo, da bin ich wieder, heute zum Thema Linux Lite USB Versionen „live persistent zu erstellen “ und damit über dem USB-Stick zu booten und damit zu werkeln. Der Unterschied zwischen Live Versionen und einer live-persistent erstellten Version ist, dass bei einem reinen Live System nach Beenden die Daten und Einstellungen wieder weg sind Das Benutzen ist sozusagen temporär bis zum Ausschalten.. Ein USB-Stick mit Live-Persistent eingerichtetem System kann sozusagen als OnToGo Linux benutzt werden. Das ZorinOS lite habe ich dazu ausgewählt, da diese nur wenig Speicher als System benötigen und mit wenig RAM auskommen, dabei als meine Voraussetzung auch auf Rechnern mit 2GB RAM arbeiten können - erfüllen. Das ISO-File habe ich dazu aus dem Internet heruntergeladen, funktionierten in meinem Experiment. Als Boot- Datenträgerhabe ich einen 64GB USB 3.0 Stick genommen, die Installation habe ich von einem IDEAPAD 100 gemacht auf dem Linux ZorinOS Ultimate installiert ist und von einem Siemens Fujitsu U910 auf dem Linux ZorinOS Ultimate installiert ist. Hinweis: Dies Dokument basiert auf meinem Erkenntnisstand an Informationen vom 14.6.2020 Das Linux Zorin Ultimate ließ sich nicht auf dem 64GB USB-Stick als Live-Persistent installieren; Fehlermeldung gegen Ende der Onstallation „evtl. zu wenig Speicherplatz“ Die Anleitung ( der Tipp how to do) wie so etwas zu machen ist – generell – hat
