Treasures Program Manager A major focus of the Vanishing Treasures Leadership Committee(VT LC) this year was the revision of the VT Charter. After careful consideration, pen was put to paper and the revised Charter was accepted and signed by the Regional Directors (RDs) of both the Intermountain and Pacific West Regions. Leadership Chair Corky Hays, along with the appropriate regional VT representative, accompanied me to present the revised Charter to the Regional Directors. Both RDs continue to strongly support the VT Program and expressed their belief that sig- nificant resource preservation has resulted from the program’s efforts and focus. They also recogninze that what makes the Program unique, and strengthens it role in the NPS, are the cultural connections that are fostered between the resources themselves and associated local and traditional communities. Both Directors emphasized the need to continue our focus on the philosophy of preservation, and to expand our capabilities through partnering.
