Vendors are responsible to provide updated certificates as policies renew. Depending upon the scope of work and goods or services provided, specific types of insurance may not be required. The Mercer County Division of Insurance and Property Management will make this determination. In all cases where a Certificate of Insurance is required, the County of Mercer and Mercer County Park Commission (if applicable) is to be named as an additional insured and named as the certificate holder as follows: “County of Mercer, 640 South Broad Street, PO Box 8068, Trenton, NJ 08650-0068”. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Resurfacing and crack repair of tennis courts S1, S2, G1, G2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, Indoor Courts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and the practice wall shall commence upon award of contract by the Mercer County Park Commission. Any and all permits and associated costs shall be the responsibility of the awarded contractor. The awarded contractor shall comply with the Public Works Contractor Act and the Prevailing Wage Act. Refer to the enclosed drawing for additional information. CRACK REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF Outdoor Tennis Courts S1, S2, G1, G2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and the outdoor practice wall. • Clean, blow and spot pressure wash entire surface. • Sand, patch and coat the iron pyrites with Laykold’s (or Equivalent) 152 iron spot rust stop. • Fill major cracks with Armor crack repair system or equivalent. • Fill smaller cracks with Nova Caulk (or Equivalent) crack repair system. • Apply two sand filled coats of acrylic resurfacer (Nusurf or equivalent) for filling and hiding Armor, apply two sand filled coats of acrylic Laykold (or Equivalent) concentrate for texture and beauty. • Colors to be US Open blue (dark blue) in playing areas, medium green border. Apply white tennis lines and ten and under lines. CRACK REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF Indoor Tennis Courts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. • Repair of cracks, color coating, and lining six indoor tennis courts. • Clean and blow the entire surface. • Take down and hang up all curtains and netting and clean behind curtains. • Fill all cracks with acrylic binder mix and multiple coats of rubberized Novacaulk (or Equivalent) . • Apply three coats of sand filled acrylic Laykold (or Equivalent) color system for texture and beauty. • All coats to have sand for extra slow speed. Colors to be US Open blue (dark blue) in playing areas, medium green border. Apply white tennis lines and ten and under lines. AB2020-21 RESURFACING AND CRACK REPAIR OF TENNIS COURTS 7 Outdoor Courts G1, G2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 are laid out side-by-side on two court banks. The existing banks are 108’ x 120’. S1 and S2 are laid out side by side 122”x132” The total area of the indoor courts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is 118” x 320”. Courts 1 and 2 are side by side. Courts 3-6 are side by side. NOTES: • Contractor is to do any additional items to complete these courts and these items are to be included in the bid price. • Final site cleanup and repairing of all damages and re-installing any fencing taken down from equipment access will be the responsibility of the Contractor. • Laykold Acrylic Color Coat System; Nova Sports, California Products or equivalent colors will be determined by the Park Commission.

In study 1, tennis players perceptions of acrylic and clay courts were identified following a thematic inductive analysis of semi-structured interviews (n = 7) to develop of a series of visual analogue scales (VAS) to quantify perceptions during studies 2 and 3. Perceptions of predictability of the surface and players’ ability to slide and change direction emerged, in addition to anticipated perceptions of grip and hardness. Study 2 aimed to examine the influence of court surfaces and prior clay court experience on perceptions and biomechanical characteristics of tennis-specific skills.

    TENNIS History The French adapted the game of handball from Ireland and devised methods of protecting the hands by wrapping them with cords, wearing gloves, and eventually by using a paddle. The name “tennis" was probably derived from the French term tenez, which means “take it and play.” The game was first introduced to the United States in 1874. Speed, agility, coordination, and endurance can be developed and indeed are needed to play a good game of tennis. Tennis can be played both indoors and outdoors. The doubles game, which has four participants, has two players teaming up to compete against another team of two. Mixed doubles are also played. This is when a team has one male and one female member. Safety/Etiquette 1. Remove all tennis balls from the court before play begins. 2. Be aware of fences, net posts and other structures on and near the playing area. 3. Close any open gates. 4. When playing doubles, be aware of your partner and racket. 5.
