Dear supporters,

Welcome to your final communication from us regarding Sunday’s Tour de Gwent. We are all looking forward to welcoming you at the start, including the volunteers and marshals along the route. We hope your fundraising is going well, here is just a reminder of how you can set up a Just Giving page.

You can have your own electronic sponsor form through ‘Just Giving’, where people can support you online and make the pledge immediately, putting an end to all that chasing after the event – what could be simpler! Gift Aid It! Every £1 you generously give us, we can receive an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue.

Start/Finish Village - Comprehensive School NP18 1NF Registration: (These are approximate times and may change)  93ml Route Registration from 6.45am – with a rolling start from 7.30am (New Route)  78ml Route Registration from 7.15am - with a rolling start from 8.00am  52ml Route Registration from 9.15am - with a rolling start from 10.00  35ml Route Registration from 9.45am – with a rolling start from 10.30am  20ml Route Registration from 11.15am – with a rolling start from 12.00pm  3ml route Registration 12.00pm – with a rolling start from 12.30pm  This is not a “Closed Road” event. *All cyclists are required to complete the ride by 4.00pm.  Please do not leave the start pen before the set times as marshals will not be in place.  See More at: http://tourdegwent.org/

Parking:  Participants Parking/Drop Off Area: St Cadoc’s Hospital Car Park. NP18 3XQ (The start area is a sterile area and there will be no access for dropping off cyclists)  Restricted parking areas: Please follow the marshal’s instructions on parking locations and follow the signs. This is a working hospital and we kindly ask that everyone respects other users, such as staff and patients.  Car Share: Where possible we kindly request that participants car share, or ask to be dropped off at Caerleon.

Registration Packs & Jersey Collection (TBC): Wed. 11th April 8.00am – 7.00pm or Thur. 12th April 8.00am – 5.00pm Blackett Avenue, NP20 6NH. Alternatively these can be collected on Sunday morning at registration. *If you registered after 26th Feb., you will receive your jersey up to 5 weeks after the event.

PLEASE NOTE: If you collect your pack on Wed. or Thur., you will NOT need to queue for the registration tent. You can put on your bike number and go straight to the starting line. (But don’t forget to drop off any luggage or lunch box)

* Unfortunately we do not have sufficient time to post jerseys out to you. If you require a refund on postage, please collect this on Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday.

Your registration pack includes the following: Final Details, *Jersey, Bike Number, Helmet Number, Wrist Bands/Emergency details, Route Map, Luggage Tags & lunchbox tags, Cable ties, Kit List.

* Lunch Boxes – please ensure you drop off any lunch boxes at least 15 min. before your route start time. This is to ensure they get to your feeding station on time!!

General Information  Next of Kin details/Wrist Bands – if you haven’t already done so, please provide this information to the registration team on Sunday morning and write them on the wrist bands provided.  Left Luggage – please attach the tags provided to your luggage, which will be stores safely until your return.  Lunch Box – please attach the tags provided, to your lunch boxes, marked with your feeding station & Number. Lunch boxes will be transported to the feeding stations (*Raglan & Monmouth). * Please use disposable items for your lunch box, any left lunch items will not be returned until 6.00pm.  Changing Facilities/Showers/WC – these will be available at Caerleon Comp. School throughout the day.  Road Safety – all participants are required to wear safety helmets. For your own safety and the safety of other road users, please follow the Highway Code and stay in single file throughout the route.  Marshals/Signage – our dedicated marshals will be positioned along the route to cheer you on, as well as signage to help you with directions.  Safely Bike marshals or cyclists marshals will be accompanying each route.  Recovery Vehicle and Bike Maintenance crew will be covering all routes, should you have any difficulty please contact the emergency no provided below.  Check in/out – When you are in the starting pen you will be checked out. Please ensure you check back in when you finish your chosen route.  Phone/GPS Signal – Signal to mobiles phones and GPS devices may be limited at certain points on the routes. It’s important you familiarise yourself with the route you are taking.  Emergency Contact Details – In case of an emergency call 999 then inform the event contacts Franca – 07977 556112 or 07841 000287, including recovery.

Emergency Vehicles/First Aid:  Safety Bike Marshals will be following cyclists along the routes.  St John Ambulance will be covering all routes.  Mobile Bicycle Mechanics will be available along the routes.  Recovery Vehicles - provided by St David’s.

You can't spell fundraising without 'fun'. Once you get back from cycling your chosen route, refuel at the tasty BBQ , and grab yourself a glass of Cwtch (champion beer of Wales, our cyclists get a FREE 1/2 pint) courtesy of our friends at Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

Refreshments can be purchased at any of the following stalls (NO Free BBQ):  BBQ provided by the “Flying Chef”- Live Music by the Spokes Duo, Licensed Bar by Tiny Rebel, Xpressofix Coffee Bar & Pastries, Tiny Rebel Bar, The Welsh Italian Pizza Co., Signor Twister potato twists and Ice Cream.  Peak Performance Sports Therapists will be on hand to help relax those tired muscles.  Sponsors – Capsel and Go Compare will also be on site.

Bring the family as there will plenty to keep everyone entertained from as early as 1.00pm.
