Webster – Where Hospitality is Our Top Priority

Our community takes pride in hosting large scale events. These events require several volunteers and the cooperation of the town and businesses. In the past few years we have hosted several events including: Cabela’s Master Walleye Circuit Fishing Tournament in 2009 & 2010, Tour D’Kota Bike Tour in 2010, Richard B Hanson 3x3 Tournament, 2008-2013, “Victory at the Vet” Men’s Tournament 2008-2017, VFW State Baseball Tournaments 2007, 2009 & 2015, Legion State Baseball Tournament 2013 & 2016.

“The people of Webster treated us like kings and extended a warm and gracious sense of hospitality in our stays there.” Donny Geng, Head Baseball Coach at South St. Paul, MN Public Schools.

“The hospitality that we receive is second to none. The other umpires who work this tournament look forward to that weekend and tell me to pencil them in for the next year.” Tim Steinwandt, Umpire, Aberdeen, SD

“Webster, SD is a great place to visit and specially bring your teams.” Kevin Nunn, East Grand Forks, MN American Legion Post 157, Head Coach

“Everyone in town is friendly and knows you’re here for the tournament. We will be back again next year and I’ll spread the word to other teams.” Gene Bierscheid, Watertown, SD parent

“Webster did a fine job making the bikers/support staff feel welcomed to their town. They accommodated our needs and actually went above and beyond by having extra services available because of the gloomy weather. Thank you Town of Webster for being a great overnight stop on the Tour D’Kota 2010.” Jodi Harkness, Tour D’Kota 2010 rider, Sioux Falls

“Thanks Webster, SD. I want to send a special thanks to the number of volunteers and the great folks at the Chamber for welcoming the Cabelas Masters Walleye circuit to your area. Your motels, restaurants, and shops took great pride in acknowledging us and service was fantastic. I would highly suggest coming back to your area for fun or business as Webster knows how to treat guests in their town. Thanks again for the awesome hospitality and even more importantly, for the new friends.” Dan Palmer, Cabelas Masters Walleye Circuit Tournament Director/Bumpmaster/TV Host

“It was a great pleasure to play on Webster’s ball field this summer. Coming from a larger town, it was a great surprise and credit to the town and those involved in their baseball program to see the amount of care and dedication put forth to make a quality facility. The grounds were superbly maintained with excellent amenities for both fans and players alike. I was also very impressed with the condition of the playing surface which was well groomed and cared for. I would certainly look forward to returning given the opportunity.” Ryan Stobb, Head Coach, Sioux Falls

“The community of Webster and the Webster Diamond Club have really done an incredible job with the Veteran’s Memorial Sports Complex and Bob Wiley Field. There aren’t many smaller South Dakota towns that have taken the time or the effort to promote baseball in this manner. Bob Wiley Field, the main field on the complex, has certainly become one of the nicest ballparks in northeastern South Dakota. I am more impressed each time I visit the facility – from the press box, to the dugouts, to the well-groomed field – it really is a sight to behold.” Roger Merriam, Sports Editor Watertown, SD Public Opinion.
