Tribunales de Reproductores Calificados at

The Feria Del Caballo Espanol Horse Show Committee is delighted to announce that ANCCE will provide the West Coast P.R.E. community with the opportunity to present horses to the Calificado Tribunal at the May 2009 show.

In order to secure the services of the panel of Tribunal judges, we must have at least 15 horses committed to the TRC process. Submit your horse’s name, a copy of your completed International Request for Service and proof of payment to the show committee no later than April 30.

Owners who would like to nominate their horse for this prestigious evaluation can consult the USPRE (http://usprea. com/?m=200811) website and download the rules and regula- tions regarding eligibility for the tribunal.

If you think your horse is a viable candidate complete the follow- ing three steps: 1. Verify eligibility of your horse by consulting TRC rules. 2. Complete and forward an International Request for Service (Code number 220) to the LG-ANCCE Miami office; 3. Proceed to make payment for the VALORACIÓN de REPRODUCTOR CALIFICADO service through the LG- ANCCE website or by forwarding a credit card authoriza- tion form.

17 The Ignacio Bravo Garcia Clinic on July 12th and July 13th sponsored by ANCCE & USPRE and graciously hosted at the breeding facilities of Raul Bucio in Merced and Ramiro Mejia in Chino, California was well attended by over 100 PRE Breed- ers, Owners and Enthusiasts. Ignacio Bravo Garcia Clinic Published courtesy of USPREA

The clinic kick started at the elegant facilities of Raul Bucio known for his beautiful horses and celebrated throughout Califor- nia for his commitment to the highest levels of hospitality. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by Raul, offered refreshments and invited to tour the barn. Shade and refreshments were offered at regular intervals throughout the warm day to make sure guests found their visit comfortable and enjoyable. The following day, Ramiro Mejia replicated traditional Hispanic hospitality in Chino.

Clinician, Ignacio Bravo offered a unique perspective at both sites as a P.R.E. Breeder, accomplished Trainer, Grand Prix level dressage rider and ANCCE Judge. He was charming, knowledge- able and tireless in his efforts to teach all attendants about the preparation and presentation of our wonderful horses. His enthou- siasm for the Pure Spanish Horse was contagious and his useful information in abundance.

Amongst the many topics addressed, D. Ignacio gave an over- view of what to look for in a well presented functionality test. The horse should be ridden such that he is obedient to the rider’s aids but with freedom to express his natural gaits. The horse should be ridden forward without too much restriction by the rider’s hands. Particular attention should be paid to the walk
