Conservation and Water Stewardship is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Park Works Supervisor in Camp Morton Provincial Park of Winnipeg Beach District.

Qualifications: Essential qualifications include:  Experience in planning, organizing and supervision of construction or infrastructure projects.  Experience supervising staff including scheduling, performance management, training and recommending disciplinary action.  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and interact effectively with staff, user groups and stakeholders.  Experience working independently with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize a complex workload.  Experience providing cost estimates, working with financial budgets, purchasing and inventory control.

Desired qualifications include:  Valid full stage Manitoba class 3 drivers license with air endorsement.  Experience with water treatment, testing, and distribution  Experience and/or training in Workplace Safety and Health safe work practices.  Experience operating, maintaining and repairing maintenance equipment.

Conditions of Employment include the following:  Must be legally entitled to work in  Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba class 5 drivers license  Must be physically able to perform the duties assigned to the position including lifting up to 50 pounds  Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays  Must have Manitoba level 1 water treatment and distribution certification or be willing to acquire and maintain certification within 24 months of the employment start date. Grade 12 education or GED diploma is a pre- requisite for obtaining certification.  Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time under various weather conditions.

Duties: Reporting to the Park Works Supervisor (PK3) and as a member of the Winnipeg Beach Park District management team, the Park Works Supervisor (PK1) assists with supervisory functions; and plans and organizes the construction, development and maintenance of grounds, infrastructure and equipment in the Winnipeg Beach Park District. The incumbent also ensures that all activities are performed in an effective, responsible, and cost efficient manner. Included are day use, beach areas, and campgrounds in Winnipeg Beach, Camp Morton, and Norris Lake Provincial Parks. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain Provincial Level 1 Water Treatment, Distribution and Waste Water Collection Certifications.
