I had already read the book but certainly was looking forward to listening to it. It is a beautiful story of a world and time long gone, at least the rural US farmland that the two boys paddled through in the beginning. The narrator might have been trying too hard to sound like what he thought a care free teenager of the '30s may have sounded like, but the story itself is so strong, it really didn't matter. It truly was an amazing journey, well told in this book. I am sure I will listen to it again.
