[email protected] Abstract A new formulation of non-local branching superprocesses is given from which we derive as special cases the rebirth, the multitype, the mass- structured, the multilevel and the age-reproduction-structured superpro- cesses and the superprocess-controlled immigration process. This unified treatment simplifies considerably the proof of existence of the old classes of superprocesses and also gives rise to some new ones. Such processes arose in appli- cations as high density limits of branching particle systems; see e.g. Dawson (1992, 1993), Dynkin (1993, 1994), Watanabe (1968). The development of this subject has been stimu- lated from different subjects including branching processes, interacting particle systems, stochastic partial differential equations and non-linear partial differential equations.
