Mintaro is a small, thoroughly charming, largely untouched historic town which hosts some of the most significant & captivating 19th century buildings in South Australia.

Martindale Hall is a Georgian style with Italianate influenced sandstone mansion which has significant heritage value in South Australia. Built in 1879 - 1880 it has some 32 rooms and boasts a large cellar of some seven rooms.

Cycling Trails: The Clare Valley region is a cyclist’s haven with plenty of trails to choose from.

The Riesling Trail is the most famous and runs for 33kms throughout the valley passing by many vineyards & historical sites. The Rattler Trail continues on from Auburn through Rhynie & Riverton. The is predominantly a mountain bike trail running from the through to the Flinders Ranges.

Walking Trails: Many walking trails traverse throughout the Clare Valley Region. The most famous of these is the , starting south of Adelaide and finishing in the Flinders Ranges. However, there are a range of smaller walks throughout the region featuring towns, diverse landscapes and to suit different levels of fitness!!
