Project Title : Determination of Insect Species, The Population Fluctuation of The Most Harmful Species and Its Critical Biological Periods for The Control in Pomegranate Orchards in Denizli Province Start Date : 2011 Supporting Body : GDAR Leader : Tevfik TURANLI Co-researchers : - Summary : As with other fruit varieties grown in Turkey, as well as the grown problems in pomegranate, many plant protection problems are encountered. One of the most important problems is to control the pests. In recent years pomegranate orchards have increased significantly in Aegean Region. It is observed that some pests cause important damages in pomegranate orchards. Denizli province with the economic damage caused species will be determined the first time by this studies by detecting population fluctuation of important species., the critical periods of the harmful will be determined. The creation and implementation of integrated control programs in the harmful against pests besides the prevention of crop losses will be provided , so, healthy and quality products will be growed, by reducing unconscious chemical applications environment and human health will be protected with the unconscious will be able to reduce pesticide. With the increase in export opportunities for healthy products derived from the contribution will be the country's economy. The study will be conducted. Pomegranate production of most of the Aegean region in Denizli province. This study will be made in orchard where the chemical use is less and able to represent the province. This study will be made for the detection of harmful species in Center, Buldan, Güney, Sarayköy and Akköy districts of Denizli province. Determination of the pests found in Pomegranate Production Orchards in Aegean Region, observation of the population changes of important species and research to control in two districts. .

Denizli Ili Maden Ve Enerji Kaynaklari
DENİZLİ İLİ MADEN VE ENERJİ KAYNAKLARI Denizli ili gerek sanayi (tekstil, iplik, dokuma, tuğla-kiremit ve mermer vb.) ve ekonomi gerek turizm açısından Batı Anadolu Bölgesinin önemli illerinden biridir ve Batı Anadolu, İç Anadolu ve Akdeniz Bölgeleri arasında bir geçit durumundadır. Denizli ilinin her üç bölge üzerinde de toprakları vardır. Genel Müdürlüğümüzün Denizli ili ve yakın çevresinde yaptığı çalışmalar sonucunda önemli endüstriyel hammadde ve metalik maden yatağı ve zuhurları ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Bunlardan en önemlileri mermer (traverten), kum-çakıl, kuvarsit, manganez ve krom olarak sayılabilir. Balıkesir'den sonra Türkiye'nin ikinci büyük mermer ve traverten yatakları, Denizli ilinde bulunmaktadır. Kocabaş ve Kaklık mevkilerinde büyük traverten rezervleri bulunmaktadır. 1979 yılında ilk tesisin kurulmasıyla faaliyete başlayan mermer sanayii, daha sonraki yıllarda da gelişmesini sürdürmüştür. Mermer dışında endüstriyel hammaddeler bakımından Merkez ilçe kuvarsit ve kum-çakıl bakımından önemli potansiyele sahiptir. Merkez ve Buldan ilçelerinde toplam 772.500 m3 mümkün kum-çakıl rezervi, Merkez ilçesine ait Şirinköy sahasında ise toplam 82.500.000 ton kuvarsit rezervi tespit edilmiştir. Bunun dışında; Çal ilçesinde Kaklık yatağında çimento hammadesi olarak kullanılmaya elverişli 29.500.000 ton kireçtaşı ve 13.000.000 ton kil-marn rezervi tespit edilmiştir. Bu bölgede bir çimento fabrikası faaliyettedir. Metalik madenler bakımından ildeki önemli metalik madenler krom ve manganez cevherleşmeleridir. İl genelindeki önemli krom yatak ve zuhurları genelde Acıpayam ve Tavas ilçelerinde yer almaktadır. Bu sahaların toplam rezervi 1.070.000 tondur. Türkiyenin en önemli manganez yatağı bu ilde bulunmaktadır. İldeki en önemli manganez cevherleşmeleri ise Tavas ve Kale ilçelerinde gözlenmektedir. Bu ilçelerdeki toplam manganez rezervi yaklaşık 4.000.000 ton olarak belirlenmiş olup, kalan rezerv miktarı yaklaşık 2.700.000 tondur.

İlimizde toplam 28 adet turizm yatırımından; Turizm Belgeli yatırımda 1 adet 5 Yıldızlı, 4 adet 4 Yıldızlı ve 7 adet 3 Yıldızlı olmak üzere toplam 2.311 yatak kapasiteli 24 adet tesisin inşaatı devam etmektedir. SENER¸ Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey ABSTRACT Cultivation of poppy as a source of opium alkaloids for legitimate medical purposes has a long tradition in Turkey. The main products are poppy straw and concentrate of poppy straw, obtained from dried poppy capsules. The aims of the study reported in the present article were to establish inorganic element profiles for the poppy-growing provinces of Turkey by means of X-ray analysis by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectrometry (SEM/EDS) and to explore the potential of the technique for determination of origin. Ten elements (sodium, magnesium, silicon, phosphorus, sulphur, chlorine, potassium, calcium, copper and zinc) were analysed in poppy straw samples from 67 towns in nine provinces. As regards the determination of origin, the most significant finding was the presence of copper and zinc in the poppy straw samples from 8 of the 15 towns in Afyon Province. Since those elements are not normally found in soil, it is assumed that their presence is the result of environmental (industrial) contamination. Differences in the samples from the other eight provinces were less signifi- cant, possibly a result of their geographical proximity. Nevertheless, differences in the samples were apparent. Because the findings are relative rather than absolute in terms of presence or absence of individual inorganic elements, further research is required to convert them into operationally usable results.

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to raise cultural heritage awareness and to investigate how urban conservation and development can contribute to a sustainable future for the historic town of Buldan in Denizli. In other words, this study is a proposal for a re-valuation of urban cultural assets, by using the functionality of historic buildings, promoting a continuation of hand-weaving traditions and stimulating cultural interaction between local community and visitors. Cultural tourism, community-based tourism and sustainability are analyzed in conjunction with the preservation and re-valuation of cultural heritage. The research proposes that a re-valuation of urban cultural properties and improvements to the infrastructure will increase the tourism potential of the area and extend the average duration of visitor stays. Data have been collected through the Turkish Academy of Sciences-Turkey's Cultural Inventory (TÜBA-TÜKSEK) Pilot Region Studies, and plans, photographs and cultural heritage-related information has been gathered. The research describes selected cultural assets on a cultural route planned for visitors and proposes to establish a catalogue incorporating cultural route, plans, maps and related materials, as well as photographs of cultural assets taken during short visits to Buldan. The investigations shed light on how the architecture and the area can be promoted without loosing sight oftheir historical and cultural value.

Journal of Earth Science, Vol. 24, No. 3, p. 397–409, June 2013 ISSN 1674-487X Printed in China DOI: 10.1007/s12583-013-0333-2 Study of the Structural Evolution of the Babadağ-Honaz and Pamukkale Fault Zones and the Related Earthquake Risk Potential of the Buldan Region in SW Anatolia, East of the Mediterranean Mete Hançer* Geological Engineering Department, Pamukkale University, 20017 Kinikli-Denizli, Turkey ABSTRACT: Denizli graben (DG) is bounded in the NE by the Pamukkale fault zone and in the SW by the Babadağ-Honaz fault zone. The Babadağ and Honaz fault zones are generally made up as nearly E-W directed two segments. The Pamukkale fault also contains many overlapping segments in the Denizli area along the NE margin of the graben. The DG contains an NW-SE trending horst (Karakova) controlled by normal faults with oppositely dipping high angles and that truncate the Plio-Quaternary rock units. The faults that bound the DG are likely to have been initiated during the Early to Late Mio- cene and appear to be active today. The faults of the DG are active and the potential energy that accu- mulates in them is easily conducted to the other faults that they come in contact with. This signifies that a movement in one of the faults forming the grabens in the Denizli region affects the other structures as well. Earthquakes in the Buldan region usually occur 2–3 years after seismical movements occur in the Denizli Basin. The Buldan region is a ridge between DG and Alaşehir graben (ALG).
