FOREST AREA REQUIRED 0.60 HA. PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY SHRI MOHAMMAD NAYEEM CHAUDHARI MANAGER & PROJECT AUTHORITY STEEL INDIA COMPANY, AT-VILLAGE-RASE TAL-KHED DIST-PUNE 1 Reference: Index Sr. No.1 APPENDIX (See rule 6) FORM – A Form for seeking prior approval under section 2 of F.C.A.1980.Proposal by State Government and other Authorities (See Rule 6) PART – I (To be filled up by user agency) 1. Project Details:- I) Short narrative of the Purpose:- Proposal for construction of approach proposal and project / road for Steel India Company Gat No.174 At- scheme for which the forest land is required. Village- Rase Tal-Khed, Dist- Pune. Our land bearing Gat No. 174 is in village Rase. The Gat No. 174 and other nearby area is proposed for Small Scale industry by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and this area is adjacent to the industrial Zone. Therefore we have established our plant for machinery work and threading work company over here. But there is no road facility available for transportation of raw material and vehicle. Our company Gat No. 174 is near Chakan Alandi main road. The existing Chakan-Alandi main road passes through Reserved forest land of Village Chakan (Medankarwadi) which is adjacent to Gayran revenue land Gat No. 244. The mentioned Gayran Revenue land is adjacent to our Gat No.174 of 2 Village Rase Tal-Khed District-Pune. The existing Chakan-Alandi main road passes through forest Comptt No. 265 Gat No.242. As the need of company activities, we decided to construct approach road from existing Chakan-Alandi main road which is 373m. The forest area admeasuring 0.60 ha. (373m x 16 m=5968m. i.e.0.60 ha.) to be required for this approach road which is proposed & passing through forest Comptt No. 265 S.No.282 Gat No.242 of Village Chakan (Medankarwadi) Tal.Khed, Dist-Pune. The existing Chakan-Alandi main road passes through forest Comptt No. 265 Gat No.242. The forest area as well as the exisiting Chakan –Alandi Main road lies exactly between revenue land Gat No.244 and our company land Gat No.174. Tested all alternative non forest land for this purpose but it is not possible to avoid the forest land because the mentioned road exist in the forest land. The forest area demanded is the barest minimum and immediate requirement for the proposed project and there is no alternative non forest land available for this purpose. Due to proposed approach road, the issue of transportation would be solved which will speed up the industrial production and increase the level of business of our company, which will raise our annual income. However, it would help to achieve the 3 National Productivity. We are aware of the fact, that such forest land have comes under purview of the provisions of the Forest (Conservation) Act 1980, making it incumbent on the State Government to obtain prior approval of the central Government under the provision of the said Act. Hence this proposal is submitted for necessary approval. Map showing the Essential map attached on page No. ------ required forest land, boundary of adjoining forest on a 1:50000 scale map. III) Cost of Project. Approximately 58.00 Lac. V) Justification for The Chakan-Alandi main road existing in the forest locating the project in land lies exactly in between revenue land Gat forest area. No.144 and our company premises Gat No.174 of Village Rase Tal.Khed Dist Pune. There is no alternative non-forest land available for this proposed approach road. Tested all alternatives for this purpose but it is not possible to avoid the forestland. It it unavoidable. The Forest area required is only 0.60 ha. for this purpose. Proposed area is open and barren land. Now there is no road facility available for transporting raw material, instruments, vehicles etc. Due to the need of road we intend to construct road for the purpose of company activities. As per the above circumstances we can’t carry out our company activities. As the need of transporting activities for company, we decided to construct approach from 4 existing Chakan- Alandi metal road to our company land which is 373m in forest land. The forest area admeasuring 0.60 ha. to be required for this approach road which is proposed & passing through forest Gat No.242 of Village Chakan Medankarwadi Tal.Khed, Dist-Pune. The Chakan-Alandi main road existing in forest area lies exactly in between the revenue land and our Malki land Gat No.174. Tested all alternatives for this purpose but it is not possible to avoid the forest land. The forest area demanded is the barest minimum and immediate requirement for the proposed project and there is no alternative non forest land available for this purpose. The demanded area is barren & open forest. The required forest area of this purpose is only 0.60 ha.The required land is Reserve Forest land. However, the prior permission of the Government of India, under the provision of the Forest (Conservation) Act 1980, is necessary & essential for carrying any non-forestry work in such forest land. The demanded area is barest minimum and immediate requirement for the propose project and no trees are required to be felled. V) Cost – benefit Not Applicable analysis 5 VI) Employment likely to The approximately cost of the approach road is be generated. Rs.58,00,000/-including labour & material charges, assuming labour component at 40% which work out to Rs.23,20,000/-, daily wage rate @ 356.35/-Per day. Rode S. mrp.ase.ro DRINKING WATER SUPPLY MANAGEMENT THROUGH PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN MUNICIPAL COUNCILS OF PUNE DISTRICT ISSN MANAGEMENT RESEARCH AND PRACTICE VOL. 6 ISSUE 1 (2014) PP: 79-98 2067- 2462 DRINKING WATER SUPPLY MANAGEMENT THROUGH PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN MUNICIPAL COUNCILS OF PUNE DISTRICT Sanjay RODE S.K.Somaiya college , University of Mumbai , India [email protected] Abstract Drinking water demand is rising in Municipal Councils of Pune district. Population is continuously increasing because of industrialization, service sector growth and change in lifestyle. People demand safe drinking water for different purposes such as cooking, cleaning, washing cloth. There is need to provide safe, reliable and consistent drinking water in all municipal councils. Municipal councils must invest more money in storage and distribution of drinking water supply. Water supply connections in each municipal council are less in terms of total households and commercial units. The recovery of water bills is very low in all municipal councils. Therefore there is less revenue generated from water supply system. All municipal councils should have modern water supply system to resolve different issues at different levels. There is need of public participation in drinking water supply in all municipal councils. Public awareness of water use will save more drinking water. Keywords: Water distribution, Storage, equality 1. INTRODUCTION Water is a basic necessity of human being. Therefore it is responsibility of government to provide drinking water to whole population. India has undoubtedly made some impressive gains in providing Volume 6 Issue 1 / March March 2014 / Issue 1 6 Volume drinking water to its population compared to the situation at independence.

  • Experiential Shaping of Public Space During Pilgrimage: the Alandi-Pandharpur Palkhi
EXPERIENTIAL SHAPING OF PUBLIC SPACE DURING PILGRIMAGE: THE ALANDI-PANDHARPUR PALKHI PRAJAKTA SANE A thesis submitted in fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Architecture Postgraduate Board University of New South Wales March 2007 Abstract Space perceived and experienced through movement presents an interesting array of imagery which blends together to form a comprehensive whole. My thesis explores this dimension of spatial complexity through the public ritual of pilgrimage. This profound and deeply significant human activity connects the individual places to form an integrated sacred network. The practice of pilgrimage has developed over centuries across the globe and continues to grow and influence a huge cross section of society to come together and move en-masse towards religious centres and personal enlightenment. Public spaces demand a simultaneous co-existence of people, activities and their setting. The phenomenon of pilgrimage is central to the public realm. Its study involves an intricate layering of beliefs, customs, traditions and religion which collectively govern the people-space relationship. The transformation of a space to a place, from static to dynamic, from passive to active occurs during this activity, maintaining the traditional usage while simultaneously evolving as a product of interaction between people, rituals and spaces. In this thesis, I examine the experiential shaping of space which occurs through pilgrims’ activities and their impacts on the given urban and architectural conditions. The research is based on my study of the Alandi-Pandharpur Pilgrimage in India. It is an outcome of my participation in the ritual as, both, an architect and a pilgrim.

S. Shahpure2 (Assist. Prof & HOD .Civil Engineering Department. G.H. Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Wagholi, Pune.) (Professor, Civil Engineering RSCOE, Tathwade, Pune.) Abstract: All the developed cities face transportation as a major problem along with municipal solid waste and sewage disposal. The level of pollution is also a serious matter. While becoming a smart city Pune cannot go by a single solution to such problem and there is a need to have integrated and environment friendly system that will make us (PUNE) unique in the world. In this paper an effort is made to push forward a monorail system on one corridor Nanded city to PMC. As the system like METRO and BRT are not feasible on routes on which turns and gradients are stiff. In Pune there is a possibility to run a monorail along ‘MULA’ and ‘MUTHA’ rivers considerable length and it can help connect all the other corridors of the city. Its economically, cost effectiveness, technical feasibility is discussed in the paper to come to a conclusion that MONORAIL can be an effective augmentation to other transportation systems on this particular corridor. I. Introduction: Monorail is one of the best alternative systems for urban transportation. There are many opportunities for us to introduce monorail systems the world over; not just in India, but also in China, South-east Asian countries, etc..
