TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS FAIRFORD PARISH COTSWOLD DISTRICT MARSTON MEYSEY PARISH Gloucestershire County Council and Wiltshire Council intend to make an order to temporarily close and restrict under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the following lengths of roads, footpaths and cycleway: i. Road number 3/173 Fairford Road To South Leaze Cottage Meysey Hampton ii. Road number 41052 Rhymes Lane iii. Road number 41051 Rhymes Lane iv. Road number 41441/C116 These lengths of roads will be closed from the junction of the A417 with road number 3/173 Fairford Road to property known as South Leaze Cottage Meysey Hampton in a Southerly direction for a distance of approximately 500 metres to its junction with road number 41052 Rhymes Lane, continuing in a Southerly direction for a distance of approximately 2 kilometres to its junction with road number 41051 Rhymes Lane then heading in a North- Westerly direction for a distance of approximately 1 kilometre to its junction with road number 3/173 Fairford Road To property known as South Leaze Cottage Meysey Hampton near Ash Copse, then westerly on Road numbers 41441 and C116 for a distance of approximately 1.4 kilometres to its junction with Road number. 3/174 County Boundary o Meysey Hampton. Alternative Route – As signed on site It is anticipated that Roads 3/173, 40152 and 45011 will be closed from the 17th July 2019 until the 22nd July 2019 and Roads 41441 and C/116 will be closed on the 20th and 21st July 2019. Closure of Footway and Cycle Way, 3/172 Whelford Road (i) Footway/Cycleway only along road number 3/172 Road from south-west of Bowmoor House to Washpool Lane The section of footway and cycle way to be closed will be in Whelford Road between the start of the footway and cycle way opposite the ‘telephone box’, for a distance of approximately 650 metres in a South Westerly direction towards Kempsford. Fencing to facilitate this will be erected and at specific times stewards will be provided at both ends of this section to ensure compliance. Alternative Route An alternative footway and cycle track will be constructed using metal tracking to run parallel to the existing footpath and cycle way on the south east, or other side of the fence line using adjacent agricultural land thereby channelling pedestrians and cyclists away from the danger areas. This footpath and cycle track is expected to be closed from 8th July 2019 until 23rd July 2019 or until the requirement has ceased up to maximum period of eighteen months.
