The water management includes hydropower generation, recreation, water supply and flood control. The flow control spillway and powerhouse intake have a simple steel cable and buoy as a safety measure to reduce the potential for access to this area by boating traffic. The cable collects floating debris from flow going past the cable and thru the spillways and toward the hydropower turbines. During generation significant floating debris accumulates at the turbine intake area.
