General information

 There are almost 150 participants registered at the 16th European Congress of Lepidopterology in Cluj.

 The participants who arrive on Monday, 25th May 2009, are kindly asked to confirm their participation to the fixed menu dinner at Bethlen Kata Guest House for the price of 8 Euro.

Where is Nota lepidopterologica?

If you receive this News issue without Nota lepidopterologica, you are at least 1 year in arrears with the payment of your membership fee (see News 45, p. 19, and hereunder).

If you wish to remain a member of SEL, please pay your membership fee (and arrears) promptly, either to the local treasurer of your country (see list on back page), or directly to the general SEL account (IBAN: DE63 3701 0050 0195 6505 07 – BIC: PBNKDEFF). You may also want to contact the treasurer (Dr. Robert Trusch – [email protected]) and/or the membership secretary (Willy De Prins – [email protected]).

Membership of SEL

Late payment of subscriptions has been the practice of some SEL members! To improve our cash flow situation in future:

1. Those who are 1 year in arrears will not receive Nota lepidopterologica, but will still receive News. 2. Those who are 2 years in arrears will not receive any SEL publications. 3. Those who are more than 2 years in arrears will be struck off.

Council will still be sympathetic to requests from those in countries where payment of the full rate presents difficulties (c.f. News 41, p. 7). 

Editorial board's request for help

The editorial board is looking for lepidopterists or friends or spouses with good qualifications in English to help in checking the language of manuscripts submitted to Nota lepidopterologica by new authors, especially. None of the three current co-editors have English as mother tongue! Please contact Bernard Landry ([email protected]), Matthias Nuss ([email protected]), or Niklas Wahlberg ([email protected]). Many thanks in advance.
