Kappeler is head of the Department of Behavioral Ecology and /Anthropology at the University of Gottingen. Ryne A. Palombit is associate professor of anthropology at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Joan B. Silk is professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Institute for Society and Genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
