The Ahoms who followed the traditional, sicio-cultural and religious games for the entertainment of the common people. They played such games like haati juj, xen- kanuar juj, maal juj, kukura juj, dhup khel, kori khel, nao khel, asari khei, hoi gudu khel, ghila khel, tang guti etc. These were played at the Rupahi Pather of Rongpur. The common people could enjoy the games altogether. There are common believes associated with these khel also. In that period many games were popular and found significance. However some of these games were still played traditionally in some particular places of Assam. Purpose of the study: This paper aims to analyse such games which were commonly played during the Ahom period. However, it was destroyed in course of time due to natural causes, but at the same time these were also relevant .Because the games were related with natural rituals, common beliefs, physical activities. Methodology: The research methods mainly used in this study are analytical and descriptive methods. The necessary materials are collected from library and used, with proper observation and analysis, to justify the proposed ideas. Main Findings: Being a part of north-east India the Ahom, a distinct ethnic group inhabiting in Assam has practices so much games which is relevant today.

Gauripur zamindary is larger in size than any other zamindary in Goalpara. The size of zamindary was 355 square miles. It was originated from the Nankar receipt from Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Kabindra Patra was appointed to the post of Naib kanangu of the thana Rangamati, situated near Gauripur. His descendants had enjoyed the office of Kananguship for more than 300 years. The zamindars of Gauripur are mainly feudal in nature. Their main motive was to occupy land and possessed a vast tract of land in the 2nd decade of 17th century. The zamindars of Gauripur were conservative in their outlook but some of the zamindars of Gauripur paid their attention to benevolent public works. Once a time western Assam was more advance than eastern Assam because of the benevolent activities of Gauripur zamindars. Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua was one of the zamindars in Gauripur zamindary who paid attention to develop the society in every sphere. He was an exchequer in the public works, viz. education 52%, hospital 16%, sadabrata 18%, donation 12%, and public health 2%. Thus he contributed in every aspect of society, education, art, culture, economic, and so on for the welfare of the mass people.

In this way in the context of the North-East India, women’s of Assam have significant contributions to Assamese literature along with the various aspects of knowledge, Cultures, Science etc. This study attempts to discuss contributions of women’s to the Assamese Novel of the 20th century. In this way, the skills that previously Assamese women had shown in the social, cultural field; in addition to the entire responsibility of children and families were not socially recognized. But reforms the 19th century, the circulation of female education under the initiative of missionary in Assam changed the previous tradition for women.
