Seeking a position as staff registered nurse on medical-surgical unit within a health care environment where my education can be used to it fullest while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2007-Present: Mercy Health Partners (MHP) Hackley Campus, Muskegon, MI REGISTERED NURSE  Conducts an individualized patient assessment.  Develops plan of care that is individualized for the patient reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.  Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.  Performs therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the patient and his/her family.  Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family.  Documents patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.  Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.  Maintains current competency in adult medical-surgical nursing. 2004-2005: Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township, MI CENTRAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN  Provided supplies and equipment for surgery, emergency departments and other patient care areas.  Applied the principles of standard precautions, asepsis, disinfection and sterilization to process, package and sterilize medical products.

1992-2001: Shanghai Housing Administration Bureau Hospital, Shanghai, China SURGICAL ASSISTANT  Assisted surgeons who specialized in general surgery.  Acted as a first or second assistant in all types of general surgery and provided pre and postoperative care.  Assisted with all types of general surgery, including thyroid surgery, non- cardiac thoracic surgery such as benign and malignant disease of the breast, and abdominal surgery such as gallbladder, stomach, colon and appendix cases.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Michigan registered nurse licensure Valid basic life support (BLS) certification Advanced cardiac life support course (ACLS) has just expired. Currently enrolled in ACLS course at MHP. Medical-surgical inpatient experience Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
