About our Speakers….
Mike Lane, DeBrunner & Associates, Director
Mike Lane is DeBrunner & Associates’ director of health care finance and reimbursement. An expert on health care policy, hospital finance, and government reimbursement systems, he focuses on Medicaid and Medicare payment issues. In this role he works closely with hospital and health system leaders, helping them develop their government relations objectives and address specific reimbursement challenges as well as broader government policy concerns, especially as they involve Medicare and Medicaid payment practices and policies. Mike joined DeBrunner & Associates from the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, where he was director of health care finance and policy. In that position he worked in the areas of hospital finance and reimbursement, public policy, and state and federal advocacy. Mike worked especially closely with the association’s members, especially their finance and reimbursement executives. Prior to his association work Mike was a senior associate at KPMG and a senior reimbursement analyst for Select Medical. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Century College and currently serves as president of the central Pennsylvania chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
John D Currier, CRCE, CCT
John is the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Management for Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services in Gibson City, IL. John has been in healthcare management for 25+ years, dealing in Revenue Cycle Management (for hospital & physicians). Besides his current duties, John spends a great deal of time doing presentations on customer service, motivation and team building throughout the country. John holds a BS in Education from Illinois State University & a MS in administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield. A father of 4 and Grandfather of 9, his number one priority is family. John is currently the AAHAM National President.
Joydip Roy, MD Vice President, Compliance and Physician Education Executive Health Resources
Dr. Roy currently serves as a Vice President, Compliance and Physician Education, at Executive Health Resources (EHR), a national organization that provides technology-enabled, expert Physician Advisor teams concentrating on managing Medicare and Medicaid regulatory compliance, minimizing inappropriate medical necessity denials and achieving appropriate lengths of stay in acute care hospitals and health systems. At present, EHR works with more than 2,300 hospital and healthcare organizations across the country, and has received the elite Peer Reviewed designation from the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Board Certified in internal medicine, Dr. Roy has served as a hospitalist for six years. Prior to joining EHR, he served as a hospitalist at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., and has held appointments as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine from F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Md. while at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and from James H. Quillen College of Medicine while at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
Dr. Roy earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine in Memphis, Tenn. He completed training in internal medicine and pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Keystone Patient Accounts Management Association Meeting Announcement
