World Kindness Day World Kindness Day is celebrated on 13 November; it was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of nations' kindness NGOs. This day provides us an opportunity to act kindly with others and no doubt kindness is an important unifying human principle. What countries celebrate World Kindness Day? It is observed in many countries, including United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, U.A.E ,Canada, Australia, Nigeria and United Arab Emirates. Singapore observed the day for the first time in 2009. How do people celebrate this day? Well, by being kind ... and having lots of fun. One typical event is to use ‘Kindness Rocks’. These are small rocks which you hand to somebody when you do a kind act for them–with the message that now it is the other person’s turn to ‘pass on’ the rocks by doing a kind act for another person. What is kindness? It is a quality that is defined as being friendly, generous and considerate. Words related to kindness are affection, warmth, gentleness, concern, care, etc. It is an interpersonal skill.
