Jeho celoevropský význam zhodnotila řada autorů (viz dále). K jeho devadesátinám předávám do tisku jeho úplnou bibliografii, která aktuálně čítá 1338 publikací, za jeden rok tedy vydal průměrně 17 prací! Jsou to jak práce, které napsal sám, tak se spoluautory, články i větší studie a velké monografie. To samo již vypovídá o jeho nezměrné píli a vědeckém zaměření v nejrůznějších oborech. Kromě publikovaných prací sepsal desítky odborných posudků a zpráv o průbězích svých výzkumů. Vedle toho všeho také sestavil mapy přirozených 421 BOHEMIA CENTRALIS 33 hnojiv a minerální síly půd v měřítku 1 : 200 000 s obsáhlými texty k nim, které slouží zvláště zemědělcům. Jde o soubor map pokrývající prakticky celou plochu tehdejšího Československa, celkem 31 listů! Na Ložkově bibliografii jsem pracoval průběžně po celou řadu let. Vedle separátů a knih, které mi jubilant postupně věnoval, získával jsem od něj také seznamy jeho publikací, které jsem doplňoval o jeho další, při mých studiích zjištěné práce, které mu nedopatřením ušly, neboť redakce některých periodik mu třeba zapomněly poslat autorské výtisky, takže se nedostaly do jeho seznamu. -

Horsák; e-mail: [email protected] Short running head: VERTIGO LILLJEBORGI IN MAINLAND EUROPE ABSTRACT Vertigo lilljeborgi (Westerlund, 1871) is one of the rarest terrestrial snail species in temperate mainland Europe, traditionally considered a glacial relict there. This contrasts with its occurrence in northern Europe where it is a widespread species. This species prefers constantly wet habitats that are neutral to slightly acidic, and avoids highly alkaline conditions, which is an extremely rare ecology for a Eurasian mollusc. Until 2012, only five historical records of this species were known in mainland Europe to the south of its main distribution in northern Europe. Since then, 20 new sites have been discovered, mostly located in the Hercynian Mountains (Bohemian Massif in the Czech Republic and Massif Central in France). -

Gredleriana Vol. 9 / 2009 pp. 135 - 170 Die Vertigo-Arten (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Vertiginidae) des Anhang 2 der FFH Richtlinie in Südtirol – eine Pilotstudie Yvonne Kiss & Timo Kopf Abstract The Vertigo species (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Vertiginidae) listed in annex II of the EU FFH directive in South Tyrol (Italy) – a pilot survey A survey of Vertigo angustior, V. genesii, V. geyeri and V. moulinsiana was carried out in November 2008. Aim of the project was a verification of previous records in the literature, of specimens in historical collections and finally of the actuality of historical locations. The results of the citation analysis showed 29 primary records from 16 municipalities for V. angustior, 14 records from 4 municipalities (Bozen, Jenesien, Kastelruth, Völs) for V. genesii, 2 recent records from 1 municipality (Völs) for V. geyeri – historical records concerning this species were proved incorrect so far – and finally 3 records from 3 municipalities( Nals, Terlan/Vilpian, Tisens) for V. moulinsiana. In addition 2 unpublished records of V. angustior were found in the collection of Florian Schrott. The site descriptions in the majority of the historical papers are so vague, that most of the exact places could not be detected. Therefore 45 sites in 12 municipalities were sampled using a wire sieve. More than half of the samples (23, first record for Laas) containedV. angustior. V. genesii (Jenesien) and V. geyeri (first records for Jenesien and St. Felix) were detected each within 2 sites and finally Vertigo moulinsiana occurred in 4 sites (Tisens and first records for Eppan, Kaltern and Montan). Maltz Museum of Natural History, Wrocław University, Sienkiewicza 21, 50-335 Wrocław, Poland *Corresponding author, E-mail: [email protected] Abstract Th e terrestrial malacofauna of Poland includes 177 species, 18 of which are introduced. Th e distribution borders of quite many of them cross Poland, and the highest concentration of such borders (41 species) is found in Lower Silesia (Silesian Lowland plus Sudetes). Th e area is under heavy human impact, hence there is a need to protect, and particularly to study the land mollusc species that are locally or globally important from a conservation viewpoint: Discus perspectivus (Megerle von Mühlfeld, 1818), Eucobresia diaphana (Draparnaud, 1805), E. nivalis (Dumont et Mortillet, 1852), Semilimax kotulai (Westerlund, 1883), S. semilimax (Férussac,(Férussac, 1802),1802), Aegopinella epipedostoma (Fagot, 1879), Tandonia rustica (Millet, 1843), Lehmannia macrofl agellata Grossu et Lupu, 1962, Bielzia coerulans (M. Bielz, 1851), Deroceras praecox Wiktor,Wiktor, 1966,1966, Cochlodina costata (C. Pfeiff er, 1828), Charpentieria ornata (Rossmässler, 1836), Macrogastra badia (C. Pfeiff er, 1828), Clausilia parvula (Férussac, 1807), Balea perversa (Linnaeus, 1758), Helicodonta obvoluta (O.F. Müller, 1774), Helicigona lapicida (Linnaeus, 1758) and Causa holosericum (Studer, 1820). For each of these species we present current data on local and European distribution, habitat preferences, conservation status and the state of knowledge of life histories. The most dramatic I one is in the Salmon River Valley between Riggins and White Bird. Ten taxa of specific and subspecific rank are known from this restricted area, while the next greatest center, the entire northern part of Utah, has eleven races of five species distributed over a much wider area. -

Over 72,500 shells from at least 28 species of terrestrial and 23 species of freshwater mollusc have been recovered, an abundance and diversity far higher than previously reported from the region. The molluscan assemblages are dominated by land snails, especially members of the genus Vallonia, represented by five species including Vallonia tenuilabris and two poorly known species Vallonia kamtschatica and Vallonia cf. chinensis. Other noteworthy species recovered include Gastrocopta theeli, Carychium pessimum, Vertigo extima (southernmost record), Vertigo microsphaera and the first Asian records of three other taxa (Vertigo geyeri, Vertigo genesii and Vertigo parcedentata). Illustrations are provided for the critical species, since opinions differ about the status of various taxa and the correct names that should be used.
