“”Ready, Set, Show!” Showmanship and Riding Clinic with Ann Wegener

When: Sunday, March 4, 2012 - 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. 9–11:00 Showmanship; 12–4 Pattern and Rail Riding Where: Westernaires Arena, Jefferson County Fairgrounds 15200 West 6th Avenue, Golden, CO 80401 Price: $100 for riders; $20 for auditors (4H and group discounts available)

This clinic is aimed toward exhibitors, intermediate level or above, with the objective of sharpening your showmanship and riding skills. The afternoon riding portion may be ridden in either English or Western tack and will include pattern performance with some rail work.

Clinician Ann Judge-Wegener is a world-renowned Arabian, Pinto and all-breed judge and, among her many other accomplishments, has judged the National Western Classic Open Horse Show. She is a Purdue University graduate, is from Denver, Colorado, where she and her husband have owned and operated a show horse training facility since 1985. Ann trains Arabians and Half-Arabians and has won national awards in Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Side-Saddle , Show Hack and Sport Horse. Ann has served as a judge since 1993 and holds cards in USEF Arabian and Western/Stock Seat divisions, PtHA(Pinto Horse Association) and AMHA (American Miniature Horse Association) . Ann has also judged the Pinto World (3 times),U.S. Arabian National Championships (4 times), the U.S. Arabian Youth Nationals, the South African Arabian Nationals, the Canadian Pinto National Championships, The AMHA World (2 times), the Australian Miniature National Championships, as well as the first Arabian Horse Show in St. Petersburg, Russia. When not showing or judging horses, Ann enjoys her job during football season as rider of “Thunder”, the Denver Broncos’ mascot, and loves the thrill of riding down the field to the roar of a crowd of 75,000 fans each time the team scores!

Pinto Registration: Forms and information will be available to register your horse as a Pinto. The Colorado Pinto Horse Association will be offering several shows this upcoming season including a combined CSHA and COPTHA show on June 17, 2012. There will also be Pinto classes offered at the Combined Breed show in Denver over Memorial Day.

Prices and Discounts: Price for individual auditors is $20 the day of the clinic. You may pre-register at a discounted rate of $15. 4H groups may audit this clinic for a flat fee of $50 which would include all members of your Club. If you are not a 4H member but would like to attend with a group of 4 friends or more, the price would also be a flat $50. Said group rates must be pre-registered and pre-paid.

Riders must pre-register and the $100 fee must be received by Monday, February 27, to reserve your space. Refunds with vet excuse only. Only 15 slots available so sign up early to reserve your spot!

Refreshments: Lunch will be included in the clinic price for riders in the clinic. Auditors and others may buy a hot lunch for a small fee. Other refreshments will be available.
