Meeting started @8:10 pm

APSO Board Introduction:

President: Xai Vue (Senior), Vice President: Vanessa Xiong (Sophomore), Treasurer: Crystal Yong (Senior), Activities Coordinator: Peter Xiong (Sophomore), Secretary: Ka Xiong (Sophomore), Advisor: Christopher Tran

MSUSA – Alex Lucier, member of MSUSA who gave an informative speech on MSUSA

- Who are we?

. All MnSCU Schools

. Organization that care about concerns with high tuition

. Student voice at the state legislature in MnSCU system office

- As a Mn State student, you pay 43¢ for every credit to help in MSUSA’s work

- What do we do?

. Serves under Student Body President

. Represent students, address concerns

. Advocate at the federal, state, and systems level to reach out to policy makers

Ice Breaker:

- Members introduced themselves with their Name, Major, Year and Ethnicity.

- All members introduced themselves, Saya ialah _____.

The Best Guess! - A topic was given to each group. Without showing group members, each member wrote a sentence relating to their group topic. One member from each group read their group’s description and had the other groups guess what their topic was.

Announcement:

- Multi-Cultural Center having an open kitchen on Tuesday 4-7pm & Wednesday 11-2pm

- Education Success series on September 20th 3-5pm MH 213

- Pow wow Friday @7pm til Sunday 10pm at the Land of Memories Park.

- Women’s Center film showing, Invisible War 7-9pm in Ostrander

- Laid out all the events that AAPIA registered for so the members can sign up at the end of the meeting.

- Went over events that AAPIA is participating in, which are the following: Dodge Ball, Lipsync, Yell Like Hell, Photo Hunt, Canned Food Sculpture, Spirit Banner, Spirit Photo and Eating Contest.

- Announced APSO’s Open Mic that is a work in progress for the following official date on October 18, 2013, Friday 7-9pm in the Flexible Programming Space (Flex Lounge) which is located in lower CSU by the pizza villa area.

- Lip sync practice days, Wednesday 7-9 in PH 104 and then 9-11 in PH 102. As for Friday we have PH 102 3-7. Saturday from 1-3pm

Constitution

- Didn’t have enough time to go over APSO’s constitution

. Please look over the constitution on your own time and we will discuss it in our next meeting

- Membership contracts: members signed the membership contract to abide to the rules of APSO and checked yes or no to give consent for APSO to use his or her photograph for advertising and other purposes.
