(If this meeting contained a presentation for professional development, please include a very brief narrative of the professional development):

_Mrs. Hanna and Mrs. Dodgson both presented on NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness. Discussion was candid and enlightening. Details were shared about the various programs and support groups that NAMI offers to clients and their families. Information on times and dates in Butler and Montgomery Counties were given. Information on the Southwest Ohio NAMI for persons in Warren and Hamilton Counties was made available. NAMI is a valuable resource for Parent Mentors in terms of having community resources to refer families for additional supports and interventions. http://www.nami-mc.org/ , http://www.nami-bc.org/ . Donna Owens of OCALI spoke about updates to the OCALI website to make it more user friendly for families and that it now offers “Third Thursday” Webinars of interest to families and schools and self-advocates. Sue Beck from Employment First spoke on the new expectations for transitioning youth from school to work: “agency neutral, person-centered, outcome focused”. It will call for cooperation and coordination across agency lines, the plan owned by the individual as opposed to any one agency. The expectation is that opportunities and planning for transition youth will have high expectations with employment as a real option (for those capable and interested) as opposed to a pipeline to segregated, congregate services.
