Comments on “closed generics” submitted to ICANN by AIPLA Board 3/7/13: Al Tramposch commented that the AIPLA Board was appreciative of the committee’s work on this submission, particularly that of Mark. b. “Closed generics” public comments http://forum.icann.org/lists/comments-closed-generic-05feb13/. According to Mark, there is a range of comments from corporations to individuals. A few commented on the issue of brand v. generic impact. We don’t know where the ICANN Board will go with this. The issue will continue to percolate; hence the suggestion that it be followed by one of the proposed sub-committees. 3. ICANN Update – New gTLDs a. Clarifying Questions – started 1/15/13 and are ongoing b. URS Announcements reviewed by Mark Partridge 1.
