Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.11 Working Group. If you have questions, contact the IEEE Patent Committee Administrator at .

2) Approval of agenda Proposed Agenda:

1) Roll call 2) Approval of agenda 3) "Are you aware of, and understand the IEEE patent policy", if not "Refer the correct section or IEEE Patcom URL" http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/ 4) Summary of progress during the June 22 call and Approval of the June 22 minutes (05/616) 5) Discussion of IEEE 802 Plenary meeting and Study Group actions 6) Review Cairns (05/484) meeting minutes and approve, if enough Cairns attendees participate 7) Any other discussion – next meeting 8) Adjourn at or before 14:00

The proposed agenda was read by Peter Ecclesine and it was approved without objection.

3) Read out of the IEEE Patent policy The required statements about the IEEE patent policy were read by the chair Peter Ecclesine. There were no questions or statements from those present.

4) Summary of the June 22 meeting and Approval of June 22 telecon minutes, 802.11-05/616r0 Peter summarized the June 22 meeting discussions. The minutes were approved without objection.

5) Discussion of IEEE 802 Plenary meeting and Study Group actions

A general discussion of IEEE 802 ExCom and IEEE Nescom schedules, the status of Petitions for Reconsideration of FCC 05-56, and the need for the Study Group to educate ExCom on regulatory aspects of coexistence and Cognitive Radio took place. It is likely that the best course of action is not to have the Working Group approve the PAR on July 18th, rather to give a situation report at the opening plenary. It was decided to use some of July 20th time to discuss/approve an ExCom education slide, and to ask to extend the Study Group through the November IEEE 802 plenary.

6) Review and Approval of Cairns Meeting Minutes (05/484)

The group decided to defer approval and review of the Cairns CBP-SG minutes 05/484r0 since the minutes are in four different styles and the attendees present on the call did not attend most or all of the Cairns meeting.

7) Next meeting

8) Adjourn The chair adjourned the meeting at 14:00 Eastern Daylight Time.
