Coastal Processes and Landforms

AIM OF TASK – each pupil is required to produce a booklet (A4 or A5) or an A3 poster display which demonstrates their understanding of coastal processes and landforms for a an actual place in Wales.

What MUST be included?  OS map of chosen area annotated showing coastal features  Photographs and/or fieldsketch of the chosen area annotated showing landforms and processes  Written explanations of the 3 processes of erosion, transportation and deposition  Diagrams of landform formation found in and around the chosen area – i.e Longshore drift, spit formations, cave and arch formations.  Information regarding wave action (diagrams, photos, written info).

PART 1- Planning the work.

Firstly, you will need to decide on possible areas within Wales which offers a wide range of coastal features. Write them in the table (sheet 1.1).

Secondly you will need to decide on your preferred layout. Write your chosen method in the space below and give a reason why you have chosen this method.

PART 2- Production and Development Phase

The completion deadline is TWO WEEKS. You are required to LOG all of your work on sheet 1.2- the log will also be assessed and go towards your overall grade.

PART 3- Pupil Evaluation – As a well established Geography student it is essential you analyse and evaluate your finished work. Sheet 1.3 will need to be completed once you have finished. Theme 7: Changing Coastlines Assessment 1#

Date: List all the work you have done here. i.e after prining out an OS map from the OS map website I cut out directional arrows to show the movement of beach material due to Longshore Drift. I also cut out small letters to highlight some of the coastal features found and stuck them on the OS map and photograph I collected for homework This was done for homework and took me less than 1 hour to complete Theme 7: Changing Coastlines Assessment 1#
