1 [4179] 1 1 2 Whereas, Reverend Mims pastored: New Salem Baptist Church in 3 Tigerville, South Carolina, from 1964 to 1965; Poplar Springs 4 Baptist Church in Central, South Carolina, from 1965 to 1981; and 5 has served as pastor of the Greater Hopewell Baptist Church in 6 Duncan, South Carolina, since 1981; and 7 8 Whereas, during his twenty years of service at Greater Hopewell 9 Baptist Church, ten ministers have been licensed, three deacons 10 have been ordained, five trustees have been installed, and a 11 number of new ministries have been established; and 12 13 Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this 14 resolution, would like to publicly recognize and thank this 15 outstanding man of God as he marks his twentieth anniversary 16 with this wonderful church and extend to him and his parishioners 17 best wishes for a long and continued pastoral relationship which 18 will remain focused on God and His mission for our world. Now, 19 therefore, 20 21 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 22 concurring: 23 24 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 25 Carolina recognize and commend Reverend Silas Mims, Pastor of 26 Greater Hopewell Baptist Church in Duncan, South Carolina, for 27 twenty years of faithful and devoted service to the church and its 28 members. 29 30 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 31 Reverend Silas Mims. 32 ----XX----
