Ending in a Last Night of the Proms Sing Along

NEXT SUNDAY “ Pimms and Hymns”- Sunday 6 th August 3.00pm – 5.00pm, St.George’s Hall Field. Ending in a “Last Night of the Proms” sing along. Join us and enjoy a glass of Pimms or Lager or a soft drink! Feel free to bring chairs, rugs etc to make your afternoon more comfortable. If wet the event will take place in the Church Hall. ------

Photography Competition 2017 – “Wildlife or Pets” Closing date for this: 20 th August 2017. Winners to be announced, and all pictures displayed at the Pet Festival on Sunday 3rd September 2017. 2.00-4.00pm. Further information on flyers in church.

Pet Festival – Sunday 3 rd September The Events committee are looking for some volunteers to help run a couple of stalls at the Pet Festival this year. If you are free, and would like to help please contact Linda Baker 07925 108856. Thank you.

A special welcome if you are visiting, or a newcomer. We especially welcome Dr.John Ledger from the Mission Aviation Fellowship who is our speaker this morning at our United Service. You are invited to receive communion with us. If you would prefer a prayer of blessing, please bring a book with you. If you would like to receive communion in your pew please let a sides-person know before we begin. Should you wish to support the church financially there are gift aid envelopes, or alternatively you may prefer to give to the collection during the offertory hymn. The money goes towards the work of the Parish. 5% of this collection will support other Christian charities.

COLLECT: Generous God, you give us gifts and make them grow: though our faith is small as mustard seed, make it grow to your glory and the flourishing of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Congratulations We are pleased to announce that Revd.Heather and her husband Revd.Dominic are now proud parents of a baby son. Isaac Emmanuel Thornton Leppard was born on Saturday 15th July, and weighed 7lbs 2oz.

Summer Notices As in previous years there will be no notice sheets for 6th to 27th August inclusive. Also, the Parish Office will be closed on Friday mornings during August. The Parish Administrator can still be contacted via email or the parish mobile. (Please leave a message). At other times details of who to contact will be left on the parish phone, announced in church and with return emails. Christian Aid Market Stall On Saturday 5th of August there will be a Market Stall for Christian Aid. Confirmation Classes Revd. Penny Furby, will be holding classes for adults who wish to explore the Christian Faith with view to confirmation at the Diocesan Service on 4th November at 6.30pm (with a rehearsal at 4.30pm). The classes will take place at 15 Wellworthy Drive on Thursday evenings between 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Six sessions are planned in total.
