Transport Department Notice Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Public Procession on 1 January 2018 Members of the public are advised in order to facilitate the public processions in Kowloon, the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from 2.30 pm to 6.00 pm on 1 January 2018 (Monday): A. TEMPRORARY LANE CLOSURES Traffic lanes on the following road sections will be intermittently closed by phases: (a) Cheung Sha Wan Road northbound between Wong Chuk Street and Boundary Street; (b) Nathan Road southbound between Boundary Street and Jordan Road; (c) Jordan Road westbound between Nathan Road and Canton Road; and (d) Canton Road southbound between Jordan Road and Salisbury Road. B. BUS DIVERSIONS A total of 43 bus routes will be temporarily diverted as follows: Bus routes nos. KMB 8 To MTR Kowloon Station via Nathan Road, Public Square Street, Shanghai Street, Kansu Street, Ferry Street and Jordan Road. KMB 203E To MTR Kowloon Station via Shanghai Street, Kansu Street, Ferry Street and Jordan Road. KMB 36B and 46 To Jordan (To Wah Road) via Shanghai Street, Kansu Street, Ferry Street, Jordan Road, roundabout, Jordan Road and To Wah Road. KMB 42A, 63X, 81 and 95 To Jordan (To Wah Road) via Nathan Road, Public Square Street, Shanghai Street, Kansu Street, Ferry Street, Jordan Road, roundabout, Jordan Road and To Wah Road. Affected bus stops will be suspended and replacement stops will be provided until the traffic resumes normal. C. ATTENTION AND APPEAL Actual implementation of the lane closures, traffic control and public transport diversions will be made by the Police at the time depending on the prevailing circumstances, traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Notices will be put up by public transport operators to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. The passengers should pay attention to the arrangements of route diversions and suspension of stops. Members of the public who plan to go to the affected area are advised to plan their journeys earlier, use alternative routes, and allow more traveling time to cater for unexpected delay. Motorists are also advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. They should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, take heed of instruction given by the Police; and watch out for the latest traffic news to be broadcasted by the media.
