You’ll need a title for the paragraph. It should be something that’s important to your thesis, like the theme. You should use Times New Roman, 12 point font, and double spaced lines.

1) You need a strong topic sentence:

Include the names of both poet and poem AND artist and painting Include the theme, what you’ll be proving/asserting (your thesis), and a qualifying clause.

2) You’ll need an embedded direct quote from the poem that proves your thesis. You’ll also need to cite line or stanza numbers.

3) You’ll next need to write 2 sentences that comment on how or why your chosen quote proves your thesis.

4) Now it’s time to describe the painting and how it proves your thesis.

5) Next is two sentences that comment on how or why the things you’ve said about the painting prove your thesis.
