Prior Experience and Education Tim Doty received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Planning/Environmental Management in 1988, and a Master’s Degree in Applied Geography in 1993, from the Geography and Planning Department at Southwest Texas State University. He began his career at the Texas Air Control Board in 1990, and has remained at the Agency during its transition to the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Most of his 26 years of experience have been spent conducting organic and inorganic ambient air monitoring and assessment work around many industrial sources in Texas. He became the Team Leader for the Mobile Monitoring Team in 1999, and remained in this capacity until 2015. He continues to serve as an Agency resource on various technical committees and workgroups including his role as the Vice Chairperson of the Office of Compliance and Enforcement’s Monitoring Equipment Steering Committee and in researching new and emerging technologies. Tim’s technical expertise as a Level III Thermographer led to the establishment of the Agency’s Optical Gas Imaging Camera (OGIC) Certification and Recertification Training Programs and his role as the TCEQ’s OGIC Coordinator.
