WILD SOUL OF EUROPE Introduction The Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Serbia and the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, on the initiative of the Embassy of Montenegro in Belgrade, and in cooperation with the Tourist Organisation of Serbia and the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, have created this unique tourist offer. The programmes presented in this brochure are based on the specific natural and cultural heritage of Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia. The aim of this joint tourism product is to promote regional cooperation in the field of tourism, to achieve greater recognition for the region, to extend the tourist season and to ensure the better presentation of tourist programmes on third markets. The seven tours presented in this brochure were developed by the two Chambers with the idea of addressing a wide range of tourists, thus the offer includes some tough adventurous experiences, hiking, cycling, off-road jeep tours, traditional dishes and wine tasting etc. This brochure is confirmation that tourism is well-recognised as an important instrument of regional cooperation and a powerful catalyst for the European integration process. Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humor, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fussy-pots, and other similarly assorted types! We had a couple of those before and it wasn't pleasant for us or them. Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun ! Waterfalls at Plitvice National Park / View of Kotor old town This will be a backpack experience using a mix of local taxis, chartered bus and local trams/metros in some cities. Croatia is an expensive destination and we are visiting during the shoulder peak months. We stay in pensions and hostels in rooms, some private and some shared bath ranging from 2 to 4 pax sharing room. It is very important participants are able to manage their own luggage and we suggest backpacks or small trolley bags. As usual, you pay for your own meals, entrance fees, within-the-town taxis/trams and other activities, unless stated otherwise. CROATIA, BOSNIA & MONTENEGRO 2022 JUNE 14 – 26 Explore three different waterfall regions. Visit Mostar - a picturesque city punctured by bullet holes after the Yugoslavian War. Walk among the ancient city walls of Dubrovnik (the location of many Game of Thrones scenes). Tour through the Black Mountains of Montenegro. JUNE 14 • • • Arrive in Zagreb. Check into our hotel and rest. Light walking around the city center and have a welcome dinner together. Overnight in Zagreb. JUNE 15 • • • Spend the morning touring Zagreb with a local Deaf guide. Visit landmarks and learn more about the history of Croatia and its part in the Yugoslavian war. In the afternoon, we will drive 1.5 hours south to a town just a few miles away from our next adventure. Overnight in Slunj. JUNE 16 • • • After breakfast, we will spend the day visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park, a 295 sq-km forest reserve well-known for its chain of 16 lakes and countless sparkling waterfalls. We will hike through the park and stop for many photo opportunities. Afterwards, we will drive 1.5 hour east to Bihac, Bosnia & Herzegovina where we will rest for the night. JUNE 17 • • • Today, we will embark on a white water rafting tour through the great rapids of Una River in Western Bosnia & Herzegovina. Afterwards, we will drive south to Mostar where we will stay for 2 nights. JUNE 18 • • • Today, we will have an all-day tour visiting four major attractions in Herzegovina. First, we will visit Blagaj, a beautiful monastery situated on the edge of a river, then we will have a short tour through Pocitelj, a historical village and an open-air museum.
