Frequently asked questions about Princeton University’s Commencement events ______

How many tickets will each senior receive? Graduates will receive enough tickets to invite two guests to Baccalaureate, five to the Senior Prom, and five to Commencement. Tickets are not required for seniors processing at Baccalaureate or Commencement; however, seniors should bring their PUID for admittance to the Prom.

Guests at Baccalaureate receive tickets that may be used for seating in front of the Chapel (audio system) or for simulcast locations in various lecture rooms. There may be very limited guest seating in the Chapel, and tickets for such seating will be assigned to seniors by lottery.

There is unticketed standing room at Commencement, as well as unticketed simulcast locations.

Tickets are not required for Class Day or for the picnic luncheon that follows.

Seniors will also receive three announcements and three invitations to Commencement. If more are needed, these can be purchased in the stationery department of the University Store (609-921-8500 extension 235).

Will tickets be mailed home? No. Each senior must pick up tickets during Senior Checkout Week, held in early May.

Is the Senior Prom a family event? Absolutely. Seniors are encouraged to bring family and friends.

Is the Senior Prom formal? Attire varies. Formal wear is encouraged, but people come in sports jackets and dresses as well as black ties and evening gowns. Dress comfortably.

Where can seniors obtain a cap and gown? Seniors pay for the rental or purchase of caps and gowns through class dues. Information will be sent to each senior.

Will we receive more information? Seniors will receive information throughout the year via class mailings and e-mail messages. He or she will have the most up-to-date, detailed information.
