Page 8 October 2010 Photo contest entries w ill be accepted October 15 to 30 f rom OCC members, t heir immediate families and OCC staff. How ever, Public Relations Committee members and professional phot ographers are excluded. A complete list of contest rules were given in the September Outrigger magazine. The entry form is available at the Front Desk and on the OCC Website. This year, photos w ill be accepted in the f ollowing five categories: Holidays, Dining at OCC, Ocean: Above and Below, Chil dren, and Sports. All photos must be taken at or around the Club or at an event in w hich Club members participate. Judges will consider composition, interpretation of the theme and overall appeal. Since most of the categories involve people and/or activities, this may be an opportunity for teamwork. Camera shots do not need a team like a video production would require, but some of the same ideas might apply. A photographer and individ ual(s) to be photographed make a team. Do you need help with lighting, ideas for location, what to wear, or group dynamics? A team could help- and all could join in taking pictures from their own camera angles. On the other hand, our lovely Club house with the ocean at hand and Hawaii's good weather can make almost any impromptu shot a memorable picture- and all you need is your camera. You may have already taken the picture you want to enter in the contest. Now just find it! Entries will be judged by members of the Public Relations Committee with assistance by a professional photographer. If there are not enough entries in a category, the PR Committee reserves the right to change the category of an entry. There will be prizes for first, second and third place in each category, and a grand prize winner. The grand prize photo will appear on the cover of t he January magazine. First place photos in each category w ill also appear in t he January magazine. The grand prize w ill be a digital camera, dinner at t he Koa Lanai w ith a co mpliment ary bottle of house wine. First, seco nd and t hird place w inners in each category will receive a commemorative certificate and complimentary lunch on the Hau Terrace.
