    MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION NOVEMBER 19, 2019 A regular meeting of the Board of Education, District 155, McHenry and Lake Counties, Illinois, was held at the Center for Education, One South Virginia Road, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 in said District, Tuesday, November 19, 2019. President Jason Blake called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The President directed the Secretary to call the roll. Upon the roll being called, the following members answered present: Jason Blake, Amy Blazier, Adam Guss, Ron Ludwig, Nicole Pavoris, Dave Secrest, and Tom Vaclavek. Also present were: Steve Olson, Superintendent; Jay Sargeant, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources; Jeremy Davis, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations; Scott Shepard, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services; Erica Bruso, Director of Fiscal Services; Shannon Podzimek, Director of Communications; Matt Timmerman, Director of Curriculum and Assessment; Kim Dahlem, Director of Student Services; George DiVenere, Director of Technology; Dr. Eric Ernd, Dr. Steve Koch, Josh Nobilio, and Neil Lesinski, Principals CHSD 155. Additional names of attendance on attached sign-in sheet. The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance. Dave Secrest moved and Amy Blazier seconded the motion that the minutes of Regular Meeting October 15, 2019 and Executive Session October 15, 2019, be approved as presented. Upon the roll being called, the following members voted.     Cary-Grove High School Cary-Grove Summer Newsletter Summer 2019 Principal’s Welcome Families of Cary-Grove, It’s hard to believe we are already looking towards the upcoming 2019-2020 school year! I want to again congratulate the Class of 2019 and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. They served as tremendous role-models for our underclassmen in demonstrating how to be great leaders and well-rounded people. Speaking of underclassmen, we are excited to welcome the Neil Lesinski Freshman Class of 2023 into the Cary-Grove family and have Principal no doubt they will find their transition to high school a great experience. Neil Lesinski Rebecca Saffert Principal Vice Principal Last year, as a staff, we focused our attention on rolling out the Jim Kelly Be C-G Pillars of Success, which include Self Advocacy, Perseverance, Integrity, Engagement, Administrative Dean of Responsibility, and Citizenship. As an incentive for demonstrating one of our core values, Students (A-K) students could earn a Be C-G ticket and a small prize from a staff member. I am proud to Ryan Ludwig say that over the course of last school year, over 400 different students were awarded for TOSA Dean of embodying the Be C-G Pillars. For the 2019-20 school year, we will continue to incentivize Students (L-Z) positive actions by our Trojans and encourage you to talk with your student(s) about our six pillars and how you observe them in your daily life.
