With some pre-planning, Mark Sulymka, head coach of the Griffins and Coach Rob Palmarin of the Canadians, both Atom division teams, worked it out that Logan Tonge, a local boy would don a jersey and run a touchdown, with a little help from his friends. On the gridiron, Saturday, September 26 at Regina’s Leibel Field, players from both teams surrounded Tonge’s wheelchair and with Coach Sulymka pushing, helped Tonge travel to the end zone for a touchdown. “Immediately Rob, his first comment was ‘well we gotta get the boy the ball,” Sulymka said, “with about that 10 sec- ond marker left in the game when we were up and we had possession, we were just going to take a knee.” Sulymka took a time out and went over and talked to Pal- marin. Logan didn’t know he was going to be in the game. “The rest is history. It’s on everybody’s social media and it’s really taken off. But it is a very, very nice story and I’m very proud to be part of it,” Sulymka said. Video of the moment will bring a tear to the eye. It is no wonder the story has been picked up by several media outlets and is gaining traction on social media. A grade six student of École White City school, Logan Tonge is known in the community. Roughrider General Managers Jeremy O’Day 2015, 2019-Current Jeremy O’Day was named vice president of football operations & general manager on January 18, 2019. This is O’Day’s second tenure as the Riders’ general manager after he was officially named the franchises 15th general manager on August 31, 2015 – a positional he held on an interim basis for the final nine games of that season. The former Roughriders offensive lineman moved into the front office after retiring as a player in February 2011, accepting the position of football operations co-ordinator. In 2012 he was named assistant general manager, a position he held for the next four years. In December of 2015, O’Day was named assistant vice president of football operations & administration under Chris Jones. In this role, O’Day led many day-to-day football operations activities, including player evaluations, contract negotiations, and co-ordinating training camp, mini camps and free-agent camps. He also participated in the scouting of NFL, NCAA and U Sports games. O’Day’s playing career in the CFL began in 1997, when he joined the Toronto Argonauts after a standout career at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He played two seasons with the Argos, winning a Grey Cup with them in 1997. In 1999, O’Day signed as a free agent with Saskatchewan and spent the next 12 seasons on the Riders’ offensive line. He started 202 regular-season games for Saskatchewan, which ranks him 12th on the club’s all-time list of games played. He also appeared in 16 playoff games and three Grey Cup games with the Roughriders, helping them win the CFL title in 2007.

TABLE OF CONTENTS 1 Report from the Chair 2 Strategic Planning 3 Report from the President & CEO 7 Football Operations 8 Community Relations 14 Financial Results Review 18 Financial Statements 19 Independent Auditor’s Report 20 Consolidated Financial Statements 24 Notes to the Financial Statements 32 Board Members 2 REPORT FROM THE CHAIR If one were to put forth a theme for 2015 it would be “year of change.” The season began with a serious injury to our starting quarterback and concluded with an unsuccessful attempt to make the playoffs resulting in a major change to the leadership of football operations. Needless to say, with change comes challenge and opportunity. In today’s competitive market we are constantly being challenged to stand out from the many options people have to spend their discretionary income on. In his interview for the position of President & CEO Craig Reynolds spoke of long-term sustainability. Without long-term team success, money and attention may be directed elsewhere. Craig made a calculated decision hiring Chris Jones – a proven winner – to lead our football team. We have the utmost confidence in Coach Jones and the football operations staff to lead us back to CFL supremacy. Nationally, the CFL experienced challenges due to other highly visible competitive events as well as an unprecedented number of injuries to prominent CFL players. The 2015 season concluded with a successful Grey Cup event with a characteristic CFL ‘down to the wire’ football game. 2016 has all the makings of a very exciting season. The opening of BMO field; The Toronto Argonauts’ new home, and one of the league’s most followed free agency in history can only lead to more excitement on and off the field.
