CRC Churches International Victoria Basic Text Summary of Credential Process

1. Complete Pre Trainee (or Affiliate Transfer) Competencies and either: a. Unaccredited CRC i. Certificate of Leadership (Seminars or Videos) and ii. Certificate of Bible Studies (Video Bible College); or b. CRC Accredited Cert IV in Christian Ministry or c. Other training to equivalence map to CRC in the application 2. Apply for Trainee Credential with your Pastor’s help: a. Register Competency details with the State Coach 6 months prior to application, giving a first report (Contact State Coach for details) b. Send them the completed reports and evidences of competency stored at the local church, (Returned at credential meeting). c. Pastor to download, to fill out, Victorian Trainee Application Kit from website old.crcchurches.org on the Victoria page and email completed application to Credential Secretary by calendar closing date for the same. d. Contact your referees to respond when they receive a form e. Await notification of Credential Interview and attend with your senior pastor and/or coach and any spouse. f. State Executive considers any positive Credential Committee recommendations g. Senior pastor or coach can contact the State Secretary for the result or await minutes. h. Ordination at the next Council Meeting or Conference; if successful. i. State Secretary organizes celebrant license. 3. Minister Credential Steps: a. Pre requisite Complete Minister Competencies and b. Training either i. Certificate of Diploma of Ministry subjects or ii. Others studies mapped to CRC for equivalency in the application form and c. Function at least 1 day per week and d. Maintain paid up active membership of the State e. Attend at Council and Conference with voting rights retained 4. Apply for Minister Credential a. Download the form from the Vic page at old.crcchurches.org in the Credential Section and complete with the Coaching Minister b. Minister Competency forms and evidence to State Coach (Returned at credential meeting) c. Attend with Senior Pastor/ coach at Credential Committee meeting with any spouse d. State Executive considers any positive recommendation e. Self, Senior pastor or coach can contact the State Secretary for the result or await minutes. f. Ordination at the next State Council or Conference if successful. 5. National Credential Progress where indicative a. Church leaders are automatically invited to continue coaching with the National Competencies, otherwise b. Senior pastor or coach writes to Credential Committee concerning the Minister’s development and likelihood of achieving National Competencies and who would be coach. c. Credential Committee considers the application and responds to the author. d. Complete National Minister Competencies including: e. Becoming Senior Pastor of a church of at least 80 and/or f. Functioning in significant roles beyond the local church eg visiting ministry, trainer, missioner, multiple church planting etc. and g. Functioning at least ~3 days per week and h. Being a paid up active member of the State at Council and Conference with voting rights. 6. Application for a National Credential recommend by Coaching Minister a. Download and complete National Ministers Credential Application form from old.crcchurches.org on Vic page Credential section. b. National Competency forms and evidence to State Coach (Returned at credential meeting) c. Attend with Senior Pastor/ coach at Credential Committee meeting with any spouse. d. Credential Team considers the application e. State Executive considers any positive recommendations as to whether to recommend to National Executive f. Self, Senior pastor or coach can contact the State Secretary for the result or await minutes. g. National Executive considers any positive recommendations h. Self, Senior pastor or coach can contact the National Secretary for the result or await minutes. i. Ordination at next National Conference if successful.

Note 1: Specialist Ministers progress as per Ministers except overseas applicants who will use special competencies. Note 2: Affiliate Ministers (transferring from other movements) as follows 2.1 Organise a sponsoring pastor who will be your coach to be inculcated into the CRC and who will download and guide you through the relevant competencies in this regard. 2.2 Download and fill in a Transfer Credential Application Form with sponsoring pastors and complete instructions therein sending the application and the competencies (and) evidence to the Credential Secretary on the form. 2.3 The application will be considered at next Credential Team meeting available. When all documentation is complete you will be contacted about an interview date. 2.4 Sponsoring pastors may contact the Credential Committee Secretary to know whether the application was referred to State Executive. 2.5 If successful, State Executive will consider the recommendation and may recommend an Affiliate Credential to the National Executive or may reject and in rejecting may issue a trainee, specialist minister or Minister Credential.. 2.6 Sponsoring pastors may contact the State Secretary to know whether the application was successful at all, and referred by the State Executive for a National Credential, or whether a Trainee, or Minister Credential was awarded to be formally recognized according to the appropriate class. 2.7 If successful, for an Affiliate Credential, National Executive will consider the recommendation and this time contact the National Co-Ordinator for the result or await minutes. 2.8 If successful, Ordination at Next National Conference 2.9 After 2 years the State and National Executive will reconsider and may approve a Minister, Specialist or National Minister Credential.
