1.4 SUBMITTALS

4.A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

4.B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 4.B.1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 4.B.2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 4.B.3. Cleaning and maintenance instructions.

4.C. Shop Drawings: Provide shop drawings indicating details of construction and installation.

4.D. Verification Samples: For each product specified, two samples, representing colors, patterns, textures, and finishes to be installed.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

5.A. Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and industry standards.

5.B. Store products in manufacturer's labeled packaging until ready for installation. Protect from damage.

1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS

6.A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.7 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING

7.A. Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.

1.8 WARRANTY

8.A. Manufacturer's Standard Warrantees: 8.A.1. Warranty Period for Exterior Stucco Type Finish (Carrara): 5 year limited warranty for 07242-2 materials and color retention; finishes will be free from manufacturing defects for the full warranty period. 8.A.2. Warranty Period for Siding Panels: 50 year limited warranty with 5 year 100 percent repair and replacement feature.

2.1 MANUFACTURERS

2.2 MATERIALS

2.A. Exterior Stucco Type Finish: CarraraFinishes as distributed by LP SmartSide. 2.A.1. Standard Color: As selected by Architect from manufacturer's standard colors. 2.A.2. Custom Color: As selected by Architect based on manufacturer's assistance with color formulation. 2.A.3. Texture: Fine texture; acrylic polymer mastic additive. 2.A.3.a. VOC Content of Coating: 57 g/L (0.48 lb/gal). 2.A.4. Texture: Medium texture; acrylic polymer mastic additive. 2.A.4.a. VOC Content of Coating: 36 g/L (0.3 lb/gal). 2.A.5. Texture: Sonora Sand texture; acrylic polymer mastic additive. 2.A.5.a. VOC Content of Coating: 43 g/L (0.36 lb/gal). 2.A.6. Texture: Skip trowel texture. 2.A.7. Description: Exterior-grade phenolic resin-saturated paper overlay laminated to EPA- 07242-3 registered zinc-borate-preservative-treated engineered wood siding; structurally rated; AWPA compliant, APA rated panels for structural use; exposed edges sealed for moisture resistance. 2.B.2. Size: 8 feet (2438 mm) long, 0.315 inch (8 mm) thickness. 2.B.3. Size: 8 feet (2438 mm) long, 0.375 inch (9.5 mm) thickness. 2.B.4. Size: 8 feet (2438 mm) long, 0.530 inch (13.5 mm) thickness. 2.B.5. PART 3 EXECUTION

07242-4 3.1 PREPARATION

1.A. Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

1.B. If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.

1.C. Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been properly prepared and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.

3.2 INSTALLATION

2.A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations including the following: 2.A.1. Allow products to adjust to ambient conditions before starting installation. 2.A.2. Do not install to green or crooked structural framing. 2.A.3. Do not install over rain soaked or buckled materials. 2.A.4. Do not install if excessive moisture is present in the interior, including that from curing concrete and plaster. 2.A.5. Do not cut siding to fabricate trim; use trim components manufactured for that purpose. 2.A.6. Apply finish using methods recommended by manufacturer. 2.A.7. Comply with terms necessary to maintain warranty coverage. 2.A.8. Install in accordance with conditions stated in ICC-ES ESR-1301. 2.A.9. Seal and flash joints. Seal around penetrations..

3.3 CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND PROTECTION

3.A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

3.B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
