Community lectures Sunrise Assisted Living 1312 15th Street Santa Monica, CA 90404 (310) 899-1976-Carol or Bruce Each fellow has a scheduled community lecture at Sunrise Assisted Living, usually while on rotation at WLA NB (but can be during other “quieter rotations”), from 2:30pm-4:00pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. These lectures are held usually when the residents have just finished lunch. The talks will be in the dining room (on the first floor). Your Sunrise contact person is Brandi Bishop. These talks are open to the public and publicized through Vital Signs by UCLA Health System."

Parking-Please park in the underground parking for your lecture. Take a parking ticket and get it validated by the receptionist.

The talks are to a lay audience on a geriatric medicine topic. You should expect to speak for one and a half hours, which includes 20 to 30 minutes for questions. The audience number is usually about 30 - 50 seniors. Your presentation should no more than 25 slides, keep the font large, list only major points, (always use bulleted points) and not have your slide be full of text. Please keep the handouts simple (if any). It is informal lecture but they have audiovisual equipment if needed (please let Robin know if needed). A microphone and podium will be provided. Ishara Bailis will be the UCLA contact support.

It will be your responsibility to get in touch with the attending listed below to discuss and review your slides. The attendings are to attend your lecture on your scheduled lecture day. It is also your responsibility to put this date in your personal calendar to help you remember when your lecture is coming up. I will send out a reminder a week before but that’s it.
