Pinch Pot Face Pots

Objective: To create 3 face pots with different expressions in the pinch method. Construction Method: Pinch Directions/Requirements: 1) Make each pot slightly different sizes—but keep them about to about 3-4”in height. Some should be taller than the others. 2) Create each pot first and then add the facial features. The features of the face should be three dimensional and NOT FLAT! See example.

3) Your facial features can be human, animal or even alien.

4) Think about how you could incorporate a handle into the design-I added ears. How can you creatively add handles?

5) Think about interesting features that you can add-mustaches, earrings, horns, hair, moles, lip rings, tongues sticking out, even feet at the bottom, etc. The more you add, the more interesting your pots will look. 6) Sketch out your designs (with the pot) below with your different facial expressions on this paper first. I want to see your ideas (and APPROVE THEM) before you move on to working with the clay!!
