See contact information for Don Haury above. A word on condition: Because of the character of their use and storage wrench condition can hardly be judged to the same standards as other tools. I have tried to note all faults such as missing parts, cracks, pitting, over cleaning, repairs, etc. Likewise the wrenches in this auction that are in exceptional fine or excellent condition have been so noted, even a common wrench that as survived the years in almost unused condition is a rarity. This leaves the wrenches listed with no mention of condition which covers all those that are in good to good plus collectible condition and with no major flaws. Other info: * Measurements are usually rounded off to the nearest 1/4". * The markings on the wrenches are in all capital letters. * a / separates markings on one side of the wrench from the other side. * If a wrench is misnumbered in a photo the description number will prevail. * All farm type wrenches are cast malleable iron unless noted otherwise. Order of Sale: The choice box lots will be sold first followed by the listed lots in numerical order. More information on the Wrench Auction and the Missouri Valley Wrench Club Meet Plus the Complete Auction Catalog Can be Found on The Wrenching News Website -- www.wrenchingnews.com Note: The web version of the catalog has more and larger pictures than this printed version plus additional patent information This auction was compiled by Don 'Bus' Haury. • Spanners and Wrenches
Spanne rs and Wrench es - the various types open spanners - ring spanners - adjustable - box spanner - socket allen keys - torque wrench - pipe wrench - basin spanner - tips Spanners come in all shapes and sizes, many being developed to deal with a specific job. By far the most important consideration when using a spanner is to ensure that it fits the nut perfectly. Too loose, and it will round the comers of the nut - and slip, often damaging the nut. Spanner and your hand. When purchasing spanners, select good quality tools. The best types are forged from carbon steel or chrome vanadium, if not abused, these will last a lifetime. Open ended - 'C' spanner The open ended spanner is the most common type, and may have a single or double end. The head has its jaws offset by about 15 degrees from the run of the shaft. This is so the spanner can be turned over to engage different flats of a nut when working in confined spaces. Another version, called an obstruction spanner, is designed for use in confined spaces. It has one head set at anything upto 90 degrees to the shaft, and the shaft may have a slight curve. Ring spanner As the name implies, the ring spanner usually has a completely enclosed head, and may have six or 12 flats. A 12 flat spanner engages upon the corners of the nut and can engage both hexagon and square bolts. A six flat spanner is normally shaped to fit against all 6 sides of hexagon nuts, this ensures a very tight fit and can allow considerable force to be applied.

For each action we give the visu- alization for the top 5 scoring clips. Recall that these figures should be “read” as follows. We display the narration of the video that is obtained from Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). The text is highlighted with different colors. These colors correspond to the score of the SVM that has been trained to detect sentences which refer to the action of interest. More precisely, for each word, we compute the average score over all the windows that contain it. Red indicates high score, blue indicates low score. • MAKING an IMPACT Impact Drivers May Look Like Small Drills, but the Similarity Ends There
{ PRODUCT REVIEW } MAKING AN IMPACT Impact drivers may look like small drills, but the similarity ends there. For decades, auto mechanics have enjoyed their high torque and unchallenged superiority in installing – and removing – fasteners with ease. As the same technology spreads to woodworkers, we’ll show you why you’ll want one in your shop. BY TIM RINEHART Panasonic Makita DeWalt Ridgid Hitachi Bosch Black & Decker EVERY NOW AND THEN A NEW TOOL COMES ALONG THAT CHANGES THE WAY WE PERFORM SOME TASK. A tool that, after you first try it, any true tool junkie absolutely has to own one. The cordless impact driver is one of those tools. When I opened the case of the first sample to arrive I thought it looked like a wimpy little drill/driver wannabe. The compact little motor couldn’t have enough power and torque to do real work, so what could I do with this thing that any of my collection of drill/drivers won’t do? The answer turned out to be drive screws and lag bolts – lots of them – into everything I could find just for the fun of it. Impact drivers use completely different mechanics than a standard drill/driver to deliver driving force. (See sidebar “How it works” on page 83) Under load, a spring is compressed which drives a hammer into an anvil to multiply torque. The extra torque is great, but there’s great side effect too: The millisecond space between impacts also lets screwdriver bits reseat themselves to full engagement with the screw head, virtually eliminating cam-out and stripped screws.
