A real fire with no soot or smoke: bioethanol fireplaces provide the pleasure of a fire without the mess
Go for quality, right from the start
Melle. – A flexible fire effect with no soot or smoke: that’s what you get with modern bioethanol fireplaces. Provided you buy quality in the first place. The first thing that matters is that the fireplace has to be well constructed. Flimsy budget models that lack stability are best avoided. High-quality units like the ebios-fire design range by Spartherm are made from sturdy materials like steel, chromium and natural stone. They are TÜV tested and their weight itself makes them stable and secure.
But what really makes the difference is that the ethanol burner must be state of the art. The days of wicks and felt are long gone. Nowadays, electronic pumping systems ensure clean combustion and an incomparable flame pattern which is every bit equal to a traditional wood fire. A remote control is even available if required, for the romantic atmosphere of a real fire at the touch of a button.
Cheap fuel is not worth it: only pure bioethanol burns with no odour
The quality of the fuel also contributes to unalloyed enjoyment of the fire. Never cut corners here! Only bioethanol at a concentration of at least 96 per cent burns without any odour and without any residues. All it produces are water vapour and CO2 – like burning a candle. A partly open window will provide the adequate ventilation which the manufacturer insists on. Appliances that are not leakproof and have no burn-back preventer are definitely to be avoided. After all, the only place you want to see flames is in the burner.
