Sing out, heavens, and rejoice earth, break forth into song, you mountains, For the LORD comforts his people and shows mercy to his afflicted. But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.” Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. See, upon the palms of my hands I have engraved you; your walls are ever before me.
Question: Do you believe that the Lord cares for you, and knows your name, and has you engraved in the palm of His hand? What do you want to say to Him now? What do you want Him to do for you? Prayers of the Faithful: 1. That we experience the power and protection of the Lord and come to realize that the Lord was with us in the worst of times, and suffered with us, and is with us now, we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
2. That the Lord blesses us as we begin this community of wounded healers with faith, great hope, new life and love, we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
3. That the Holy Spirit guides us in our efforts to reach out to others who are not here tonight, and could benefit from this community, we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
4. That our families, friends, co-workers and all who have been affected by our suffering receive the grace of the Lord to overcome any difficulties they may have had as a result of our suffering, we pray to the Lord. . Lord, hear our prayer.
5. Add any prayer of your own. The response is: Lord, hear our prayer.
Psalm 46
God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken Come and see the works of the LORD, and mountains quake to the depths of the who has done fearsome deeds on earth; sea, Though its waters rage and foam Who stops wars to the ends of the earth, and mountains totter at its surging. breaks the bow, splinters the spear, and burns the shields with fire; Streams of the river gladden the city of “Be still and know that I am God! God, the holy dwelling of the Most High. I am exalted among the nations, God is in its midst; it shall not be shaken; exalted on the earth.” God will help it at break of day. The LORD of hosts is with us; Though nations rage and kingdoms totter, he utters his voice and the earth melts. The LORD of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob. our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
