Day 1 Catania

Independent arrival to hotel in Catania. Tonight enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 2 Catania → Siracusa →Catania

After a buffet breakfast, travel to Siracusa. Visit the Neapolis Archaeological Park, including the famous Greek Theatre, the Latomia del Paradiso (Paradise Quarry) and the Ear of . Continue to the Island of Ortigia, the small baroque city centre of Siracusa. Visit the Cathedral, which is built on the site of the Temple of Minerva, the legendary Arethuse Fountain and the Temple of .

In the afternoon, return to Catania for a nice walking tour. During the tour in Catania, stroll through the city centre with your professional guide who will charm you with the history of the city. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3 Catania → Modica →Ragusa

After a buffet breakfast, visit Modica a town whose architecture has been recognised as providing outstanding testimony to the exuberant genius and final flowering of Baroque Art in Europe. Modica is a town with an ancient history, nicknamed "the City of 100 Churches" and some of its most representative monuments, such as the Cathedral of San Pietro and the Church of San Giorgio, have been proclaimed World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

The tour will then continue with a visit inside the Artisan chocolate workshop. There you will discover the techniques leading to the production of an amazing quality of "the Modican's chocolate". Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by free time to explore the town and shopping.

Day 4 Ragusa →Piazza Armerina → Agrigento After a buffet breakfast, travel to Piazza Armerina to visit the world renowned Villa Romana del Casale, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its well preserved mosaics depicting mythological themes and hunting scenes. Lunch in a local restaurant with a special menu highlighting the local specialities.

Proceed to Agrigento, a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a guided tour of the Valley, including the Temple of Concordia, which is in almost perfectly preserved condition, the temples of Juno and .

VALLEY OF TEMPLES

Day 5 Agrigento →Selinunte→ Palermo

After a buffet breakfast, travel to Selinunte, home of the largest Archaeological Park in Europe with 270 hectares and over 2500 years of history. The Temples of the Oriental Hill walk explores the area immediately in front of the main entrance to the Park. This outstanding walk through history visits Temples E, F and G. is the best preserved among those present on Eastern Hill and Temple G is the largest in the Park and its construction remained unfinished. After the visit, we’ll proceed to a typical olive oil producing farmhouse for an oil tasting and a delicious lunch.

After lunch, we proceed towards Palermo, the capital of Sicily. On the way, we stop at the town of Monreale, situated on a hill a few kilometres from Palermo. Its Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in the world with its Moorish architecture and houses very fine mosaics representing the Old and New Testaments. Travel on to Palermo with dinner in your hotel

Day 6 Palermo→ Cefalu→ Taormina

After a buffet breakfast, this morning is dedicated to visiting the historical centre of Palermo, one of the largest historical centres in Europe, with Martorana Church, Piazza Bellini, Piazza Pretoria, “I Quattro Canti di Citta” (the four corners), Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the ancient “Cassaro”, Piazza Bologni, the Cathedral (internal visit) and the outside of the Norman Palace. You’ll also have the chance to taste Palermo street food at a typical local market.

Then departure to Cefalù a former fishing village, now a charming coastal town. Enjoy a walk to the city centre and down main street to reach the Arab-Norman Cathedral and the medieval wash-house built into rock. Proceed to Taormina.
