Promotion Exam Requirements

- Questions for Yellow to Orange Belt -

All answers must be completed with SIR!

1. Q. Why do we yell in Tae Kwon Do? A. To develop spiritual strength with concentration, power and confidence, SIR!

2. Q. What is the bow? A. The bow is a Korean form of greeting, SIR!

3. Q. Why do we bow? A. We bow to show sincerity and respect, SIR!

4. Q. When do you bow? A. We bow to the flags when we enter the Do Jang We bow when we exit the Do Jang We bow to the Master and Instructor anytime and anywhere we see them We bow to a higher level belt and fellow Tae Kwon Do students anytime or anywhere we meet them, SIR!

5. Q. Why do we test? A. We test to further our knowledge of Tae Kwon Do through test preparation and test experience, to gain confidence by performing under pressure, and to let a qualified judge determine the increase of my knowledge, SIR!

Yellow Belt Break: Side Kick

One step sparring: #1-# 4 (see page ??)

Poomse: KIBON DOOL, KIBON SAT

Poomse for 4-6 years old: (All done in forward stance)

Kicking combination 1: (All done in fighting stance. Yell on every punch.)

Fighting stance, right foot back. Front snap kick right/left punch, front snap kick left/right punch, front snap kick right/left punch. Turn left to the back Front snap kick right/left punch, front snap kick left/right punch, front snap kick right/left punch. Turn left to the front

Kicking combination 2: (All done in fighting stance. Yell on every punch.)

Fighting stance, right foot back. Roundhouse kick right/left punch, round house kick left/right punch, roundhouse kick right/left punch. Turn left to the back Roundhouse kick right/left punch, round house kick left/right punch, roundhouse kick right/left punch. Turn left to the front

Kicking combination 3: (All done in fighting stance. Yell on every punch.) Fighting stance, right foot back.

Side kick right/left punch, side kick left/right punch, side kick right/left punch. Turn left to the back Side kick right/left punch, side kick left/right punch, side kick right/left punch. Turn left to the front

Kicking combination for 4-6 years old: Same as above, but only punch (high, middle, low) on 3rd kick.

Poomse: ki born dool –Basic form 2

1. The left Wrist Low Section Block in the Left Forward Stance 2. The Right Fist High Section Straight Punch in the Right Forward stance 3. Using the left foot as the axis, turn the body to the right. The Right Forward Stance then execute the Right Wrist Low Block 4. The Left Fist High Section Straight Punch in the Left Forward Stance 5. The Left Wrist Low Block in the Left Forward Stance: Using the right foot as the axis, turn the body to the left 6. Assume the Right Forward Stance then execute the Right Fist High Block 7. Assume the Left Forward Stance then execute the Left Fist High Block 8. Assume the Right Forward Stance then execute the Right Fist High Block. Yell (Kihap) 9. Using the right foot as the axis, Turn the body to the left . Assume the Left Forward Stance. Execute the Left Low Block. 10. .The Right Fist High Section Straight Punch in the Right Forward stance 11. Using the left foot as the axis, turn the body to the right. Using the left foot as the axis, turn the body to the right. The Left Back Stance then Using the Right Inner Wrist Middle Section Block . 4. The Left Fist Middle Section Straight Punch in the Left Forward Stance 5. The Left Wrist Low Block in the Left Forward Stance: Using the right foot as the axis, turn the body to the left 6. Move the Right Foot . Assume the Riding Stance then execute the Right Fist Middle Punch 7. Move the Left Foot. Assume the Riding Stance then execute the Left Fist Middle Punch 8. Move the Right Foot . Assume the Riding Stance then execute the Right Fist Middle Punch Yell (Kihap) 9. Using the right foot as the axis, turn the body to the left. Assume the Left Forward Stance.
